Nah my neighbors are all family. The rest of my neighbors think I'm nuts so they leave me alone. :D

Despite the weight, I'll probably end up with the URD system. I'll search for a CF driveshaft and try and source some Stoptech/other slotted rotors with aluminum hats. I don't see pulling any of the stock equipment off except for maybe that sway bar....but even that is iffy. Gotta see how it affects street driving.

Thanks Yoda. Yeah I ain't driving all the way west side to bang my truck up. I'll likely hit some trails up Ka'a'awa, Kahaluu, Laie (kuleana land), and Hau'ula for pigs with my dogs. Other than that, I'll see everybody on the cruises.

Yeah I might be down for that too.....depends if we're gonna be at the rifle range that day or golfing. If the coast is clear I'll probably drag some friends along and check it out.

Stick a Momo steering wheel on there with a quick disconnect too. The stock steering wheel + airbag is at least 7lbs heavier.

I'm not sure how much they have on Taco's, but the sound deadening asphalt stuff under the carpet and in random places in the interior body of most cars I've seen adds up to a lot too. Figure there's 25 lbs of that in there.

Run your tank 5 gallons shy of full, that's -30lbs also.

Lightweight flywheel (if you have a manual trans) -15lbs.

That's all I can think of, I've only had my truck for 30 days and haven't really looked at it too much yet.

Haha! Red mud....you must've been to Hawaii. I will definitely get it dirty! Just likely not that often since the only time it sees any decent mud is when I get time to take the dogs bow hunting.

Yeah red dirt is like dye. They have a clothing company that actually uses it as dye to sell "Hawaii Red Dirt" shirts. Gnarly!

be careful removing the sway bar for 2 safety reasons. You may not drive the truck fast or corner but god forbid you need to do any emergency quick avoidance maneuve like avoiding an animal or someone who cuts you off on the highway, you are at risk of loosing control. The second scenario, less likely but still possible, is breaking something on the suspension like a shock or shearing lug nuts on a wheel. I personally had the UCA bolt come almost all the way apart. Without a sway bar i woulda been f'ked.

the only time id say no sway bar is ok is on LT

This could have been real bad without a swaybar

If your gona go wheeling and use it as a DD you really should just try keep the bed empty, no spare tire. Rip out all the interior trim minus driver seat. If your trying to make a light weight wheeler its not going to happen unless you strip it down significantly. I'm not sure what your exact motives are. All the exhaust mods you did actually drops your MPG. Are you trying to go faster and just be lighter? Urd supercharger, URD/NST S/C pulley, NST pulley's (Crank, water, alt, power steering if they have them), Electric fan, AFE dry Pro CAI, shit load of tune software+hardware, c or D rated tires at 265/70 or 75/ by 16 or 17 on some volks light weight rims. Carbon Hood, seats. Armor plated bumpers add weight, just stick to the stock ones, the rears weighs nothing compared to an armored one. Upgrade suspension (shocks/coilovers), and and ether block in the rear or get a new leaf pack or AAL.

05cTaco - Thanks for your post. I think you'll find my motives in the initial post along with an idea of the severity of the mods that I'm willing to do. I haven't seen anyone modding with consideration being paid to how much weight they're adding and I wanted to inquire about the options we have available to us. I build performance cars and weight is one the main things I try to avoid. I don't see why continuing that train of thought with my Tacoma build can't work out just as well. We'll see I guess.

Taco me elmo - LOL I shoulda thought of that!

Bro....that is the craziest thing! I just met with my paint/body guy who does the work on my Viper and asked him to add some extractor vents on my stock hood! Crazy.

I asked him for 5 vents on the outside edge of the hood just above the headlight assembly angled parallel to the hoodline for the headlight. Finish it off with black wire mesh and a baffle......He chuckled and shook his head cause he thinks I'm nuts for wanting to mod my Tacoma. LOL

If McNeil makes a 2012 hood sans scoop with heat extractors, I am ON IT!

Lets say the driver loses 20 Lbs.

    Driver is now 180 Lbs.
