I did a search and come up with nothing. Do I need weights in the back of my 6 ft. Bed.
I have not been a truck owner in some time and curious how the truck will handle in the snow. It is 4 wheel drive.
I had a Blazer 4 wheel drive and it needed weight in the back to get traction.
    Just curious on this one.

Whatever snow and ice gets back there is enough for mine. You could always tie off a tube of sand if you feel your truck needs it.

running a 60pound tube sand from home depot over each axle....about 5 bucks each. people have lots of opinions on weight but i noticed a huge difference in the two snow storms here in maine.

Wait till the first storm. I've never needed weight in the back. If you do get something back there, make sure to strap them down. They can become projectiles in a collision.

That is what I did, while knowing that folks put weight in their beds for winter. It wasn't so much outright traction, but the rear felt too light when cornering. Lacing two 60lb tube sands by the tailgate made it feel right for me.

As a tip for anyone, considering the excellent TRAC system, find your favorite on ramp or nice, wide curve and go around it a bit aggressively in the wet. You'll get a feel for the balance of truck, if it pushes, over-steers, or throttle-steers nicely. With the TRAC system on the default setting, it will keep you pointed in the right direction.

Very true. Because swing out! But, at only $10/yr of sand. . .

Tires and front and tank skids are at the top of the list now though.

I'm trying to decide between skids or rear bumper. I am leaning to a rear bumper as I drag the rear more than get hung up underneath (on the trails I frequent). Non-swing out, though. That would drive me nuts using the rear tail gate. My next tire will be 255/75/17, so it should fit under the truck fine.

I have used the hitch as a shovel, but the scratches on the bare Sport tank were a bigger worry. For now, an OR / Pro take-off would be just fine.

That swing-out issue is what keeps the bumper further down on the list. The fam has been wishing for a TT, so the hitch has to stay or be incorporated.

    Decisions!

I rarely use 4wd except to get out of my street cause the plows like to bury my truck when they come by other than that I find tacos handle pretty good in 2wd, I also don't have winter tires and do just fine.

If I was an important person that had to drive on snow or ice covered roads I would stack firewood bed rail level in my truck. I just posted the Puzzle Weights for another option.

I agree about both. I like the first one since you can have a nice campfire anywhere that way.
