i just bought my 2009 TRD Sport Doublecab Taco in Sept 08 and noticed that there's a weird noise coming from my woofer. it doesnt occur when I play the radio or play CDs or my Ipod at a high volume (over level 30). However when I play CDs or my Ipod at a lower volume, i hear a sound that resembles someone blowing into a microphone or something. i don't know if the woofer is blown. i got the truck with 4 miles on it and it's been in good care since i picked it up. i've got my warranty on the truck and have scheduled to take it in for an assessment.

has anyone else experienced this same embarassment? i wonder if toyota knows about their 2009 tacos woofer malfunction.

That would not be a blown sub. You are most likely hearing static from the crappy amplifier.

That's me snoring in the back. Keep driving and turn off that hippy noise.

Really though, I'd imagine some wiring is faulty.

Also if you google it, there are a lot of similiar results. I'm going to my dealership this saturday to try and explain the situation to them. I just hope they don't pull a fast one on me and blame it on normal wear and tear or something ridiculous.

I had the same problem with my 06. The JBL sub just sucks, I bought a new sub box with 2 10" subs. Just buy after market subs.
