I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
Not a point, the point is that he got $6 k hit with brand new model Tacoma which supposed to have best resale value.
Unfortunately looks like due to al the issues and problems looks like resale value on new model is worse than on 2015 model which is pretty funny if you think about.

I read another guy traded & took a 4k hit. Trading or selling 1st year hits you the worst. Long term Toyota's do hold one of the best. Sub 90s pull anywhere from 8-15k. Any vehicle in first year depreciation is high. I see it all the time doing DMV paperwork.

Do you need to know, or care?
6k hit is no surprise to me. Dealer needs to make a profit, so let's say they price it 3k under a new model, then someone negotiates another 1k off asking, dealer makes 2k, which is basically not much profit after paying overhead and commissions.
For me, there is no way I'm buying used vehicle for 3k under msrp. I can negotiate better than that on a new one and maybe pay a few bucks over what that dealership is selling for a used model. You would have to be crazy to think you can buy a new vehicle and 3 months later trade it in for the same price you paid for it.

OP, sluggish? Wish you were with me when officer pulled me over for $200.50 fine for 19+ over 55 limit; he told judge he really couldn't tell how fast I was going as feedback from speed gun wasn't keeping up with accceleration. Seriously. Whoops. I'm back in grandma mode and keep my finger off ECT button. Have had 2 vettes, mustang HOHP, 2 Alfa Romeo's; this puppy isn't fastest thing I've driven but it will keep up with traffic when you drive it right. Outside a quaint little howl from crosswinds, there isn't a thing wrong with my '16 Taco and a lot of other folks' too. Sorry you got a bad one.

Find it funny when people complain about mpg's when they are driving 75-85 in a truck.Good luck getting any mileage at that speed.Stay around the limit and it will probably improve.

El Paso is sure proud of their Tacoma's. I see things havent changed much since I left. There are a ton of PreRunners down there. I remember walking out of Hoy Fox and Dick Poe on a few occasions because they wouldnt budge in price.

and another person with the same model may take a lesser hit. Trade in values fluctuate depending how well the negation goes.

When I bought my 06 and was asked what I wanted for my trade, I stated they could offer 1 cent. But you will come way the heck down on price on the new one. Then I told them what I expected. The final deal was within what I considered acceptable. That is new truck - trade = what I was willing to pay. no more no less.

Point being, with trades it is the difference between the trade and the new vehicle cost that is important. If the numbers don't make sense to me, I walk.

Agreed, traded a 97 Jeep and a 2006 Mazda in for my Tacoma. Was just happy to get rid of them, took what they offered, and it was acceptable, was about 6K. I was happy.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.

My sister bought a 2015 Grand Cherokee with the shifter in question. I will agree it's VERY awkward to use your first time, but I noticed the difference the first time I drove it, and knew how it worked from there on out. That said; I think a recall was the right decision. With the amount of people who just aren't as intuitive as others, I think their design was overall a blunder.

I had a 2011 TRD Sport 4x4 that I loved. Sold it in 2014 with 78k miles. I wasn't planning to get a new one for a while but I missed it so much that I got a 2016 TRD Sport 4x4 DCSB. Love it even more than my 2011. Don't let a few people with issues steer you away from a great new vehicle. It's still the best mid-sized truck made... And by far, the best looking!

Here's a list of VW bus terms and definitions:

    http://www.vintagebus.com/techinfo/definitions.html

I said that picture was a Kombi, no, it's a Westfalia, that's what we had. The Westfalia was the camper conversion. Poptop, icebox, sink, 20 gallon fiberglass water tank, folding bed/bench seat. Folding table, clothes closet with mirror, 1/4" plywood headliner and door panels, storage here there and everywhere, walkthrough area from the front buckets to the rear. It was a slick little camper for two adults. Had a canopy stored inside that went over the double-doors on the passenger side. Auxilliary heater that was fueled from the gas tank. The 10 gallon fuel tank was a PITA.

The way some of these cars are set up for gear shifting & push start are just beyond stupid.

    BMWs come to mind.
