I'm currently at 15MPG/15L/100km on my first tank of gas, I should probably return mine too?

I'd definately ask the dealer wtf is up with that, considering your supposed to get in the 20s. Hell my first gen gets 15 in the city

I don't care if my motor blows up, as the tranny strips out, while throwing the rear axle completely out from under it. I'm not loosing thousands on a tradin. That's what the warantee is for.

M/T (and getting used to it vs. an Impreza hatchback), and all short distance city driving, it's getting better every time I drive it so I'm going to give it a couple tanks to see where it stabilizes

I have a Chevy Suburban, Jeep Cherokee, Tacoma and a 4Runner. BURB and the fing Jeep have smog, power steering issues. Wife Drives the Tacoma, I drive the 4Runner. I can honestly say that Toyota's are the most reliable vehicles I have ever had. 4Runner has 321K miles on it and everything still works. Sorry for your loss. Try again in a few years.

For all the people with issues there are tons more with no issues. I have 2016 trd or and have zero issues. 20mph on average, smooth shift points, suspension is great. Some sounds when driving but I can live with it, im not driving a Mercedes; it's a truck. Obviously, OP I give you credit trying four times, i'd probably drop the Tacoma after that many too. Mine was assembled at the Baja plant.

Amazes me how many third gen guys are quick to judge and get defensive. The point is there are alot of issues/complaints that shouldnt be with this new Taco, and no dont say the only a few on here, there are countless threads from leaking seals to vibrating steering wheels, poorly filled transmissions, crank position sensor failures and a whole slew more, more than I ever saw in the 2nd gen section when guys were buying their new trucks, not saying my truck is flawless, but lets be honest the 3rd gen is showing the same problems and more, and no not everyone but a good amount, this forum represents the small population of taco owners, take those complaints and multiply them. Hoping you guys have some TSBs coming and bugs worked out, but based on 2005-2015 I wouldnt hold your breath, its sad as Toyota is starting to prove no better than Ford, etc in some aspects.

My '16 TRD Offroad has a vibration when slowing down as well. :( It is going back to the dealer tomorrow. Already had trans. fluid checked and it was full. Hoping it will be an easy fix........maybe surfacing the rear brake drums. The vibration can be felt through the brake pedal. No problems other than that. Was hoping that it would be like my '07 FJ......never went back to the dealer once.

You are correct, it does represent a small population. However, I bet most people that dont have any issues aren't making posts all the time about how awesome their truck is. Just saying, the loudest voices are always going to be the upset ones.

Agree, but there are far more than in the previous gen sections, especially in a NEW truck, lets say 10/100 owners are on TW, 2 of those have an issue of some sort, that means out of 30,000 owners at least 600 will have an issue. I dont know about you but that is not okay, especially by Toyota.

I guess I haven't had any issues with my 16. But I did do all the preventative stuff right when I bought it. Greasing ujoints, checked my own fluid on the AT, u bolts, all good. Frickin love it. I'm glad you made the choice that made you happy.

I wouldn't go that far. There are issues with every redesign. I've put 15k miles and haven't seen any issues and like every new thing that comes out they have to get tweaked. No matter how long it was redesigned it doesn't mean it will
Come out perfect and it's not getting defensive bc the people who have had great experiences with their 16's also like to share that and hope they get the same experience we have had. I've owned a 2004 prerunner and a 2005 xrunner and they replaced my tranny twice, yes it's an xrunner but still after that last transmission it was the funnest truck I've ever had. 16's are a great truck but like anything in life take care of it and it will take care of you

^^^ ... First year model changes do have more problems ...

Toyota does need to kick some azz on their production lines in Mexico and Texas ...

IMO ... that's exactly why "J-Cars" are desired so much more ... :boink:

With that said, Toyota (and Honda) still have the best vehicles in the world (especially for the money) ...
