before anyone starts yelling at me, my thought is that why should i pay like $40,000 or something for a new one when mine is paid for, runs perfect, already has all my mods on it, has mech. LSD and has been through hell and back, and always done me good! I will never sell it, one of us will die first, the truck or me, lol, I figure if it looks the same, drives the same, performs the same (or better) and saves me like $25,000+ why not?

i put my 2006 trd sport pre-runner in the shop last wednesday, getting 2014 sport front end, getting all dings and dents removed, stripped and painted back to sand pearl oem black and having the 32" BFG's i bought while back put on. should be ready by next monday. tires included, total should only be about $5,500.

    can't wait hehehehe :)

2014 TRD Sport with 130,000 miles, lol!

Good for you man. We spend a lot of time on this forum talking about how money should be spent on these trucks. Really though if it makes you happy that is all that matters. I have a base regular cab 4x4 that I plan on putting expensive suspension on and a supercharger. Not to mention a bunch of steel in the form of bumpers and sliders and skids and crap. So after the initial purchase price of 19K and 10K+ worth of parts I will have about 30K+ dollars in a 2009 regular cab tacoma with some miles on it. Love my truck and would not want anything else. Post some picture when you get it back.

There is nothing wrong that. Post up pictures

Paid for? 5000 dollars will make 10 months worth of payments on a 30k truck. Still wouldn't be yours.

    $500 for tires
$200 for Bora 1.5" spacers (they actually shipped me 6 if someone needs a pair)

The rest is parts for the front and paint and body work. Left front fender just decided cheaper to replace than fix, door dings in all the doors, the left rear door has a couple hefty dents getting fixed (someone hit it in parking lot), left rear edge by rear bumper i scraped a tree, so that needs to be straitened out, couple small dings in tailgate. then repaint whole truck.

When its done and have final bill I can give a better breakdown of costs on each part of the body/paint work.

Trying to slowly pick up parts for my conversion. Same idea as you. Like the looks of 2012 up, paying mine off next year so no need more payments. Should feel like a new truck when you're done.
Will be picking up parts from member here putting some off road bumpers on so should keep cost down with used parts .Hood will be hard to find .Dealer here wants $805 for hood with scoop and extra parts needed. Unpainted.

Nothing wrong with spending money the way you want to spend it. Truck is already paid for and the guy wants to spruce it up a bit. God forbid he wants to do something different for once compared to the usual stuff on TW

Good luck on the truck and update us with lots of pics

we used an aftermarket sport hood, was fraction of dealer cost. you also need the scoop insert and the little insert in the scoop and 5 gaskets, thats dealer only parts.
