It still doesn't charge yours? The error says it doesn't charge it but I have had it like that for weeks now and the battery has never gone down on the dash cam.

I will double check with another wire but I tried it once and it died the 3rd time I went to work. Doesn't hurt to try again though

That's a horrible idea. What time?
Rexing Users: Are you able to use the app? NO matter what I have done, I cannot get the app to connect. I have connected to my phone, the dash cam says its connected, but the app may wa well be a bump on log. Any ideas? (And yes, it has been uninstalled and reinstalled, and the phone restarted.) Thx.

Thanks OP, did exactly what you did and it looks great. Very low key and not obvious at all. Looks almost factory.

So I’ve had my usb adapter for a few months now and the other day it completely melted. My dash cam shit off and I reached up and burnt my hand on the adapter.

Not sure if I should risk it and order another or just go back to a normal hardwire.

Was your adapter the v1 I'm assuming? Mine did the same thing and I contacted dongar technologies and they sent me a v2 for free

I added you to my older post regarding these devices overheating. :bananadead:

It would be good to confirm that yours is not a Version-2 device. When did you buy it? Can you post a picture?

I can't say for sure, but off the top of my head that seems like before the 2nd Gen/v2 was released. (OK, to verify I looked and I ordered mine on April 12. I ordered basically immediately after the v2 came out, so I'm positive yours would be a v1.)

So as a v1 dongle, then not surprising as it sounds like overheating was common. Not cool, but not surprising.

Do any of the Garmin cams show live video to your phone? Mainly interested in the Mini dash cam.

The Garmin Dash Cam Mini will show video to your phone, but in my experience it is 2-3 seconds delayed and it will not record while it is streaming.

*It streams via bluetooth/wifi, so you have to be close to it. It's not usable for remote viewing.

Finally got all my parts in and will be installing tomorrow! I kind of wish the Dongar adapter had a super capacitor built in to give some additional run time after the vehicle was shut off.

Interesting thought on extra time. Has me thinking what would I need a recording of after Turing off the truck and walking away, what purpose would you be thinking of?
