:notsure: that was my best shot. Maybe try to reformat the memory card. Or reset the camera, if that's even possible.

From what I've seen over the past day or so of having the unit, it flashes red at first, and then goes to steady red until it is connected to the app on your phone. Then it turns blue.

One thing to check is to make sure that the memory card is formatted correctly. You can do that from the app, which is pretty neat.

Yes. The Garmin requires 1.5A and it works fine.

Yeah maybe I have a bad memory card. It says it's formatted but still does the red flash forever.

Have you brought the camera inside and connected to your computer via a USB cable and run the Garmin Express app on your computer?
If so, what does that show you?
If you haven't done that, try it to see what it tells you.
What is the capacity and speed rating of your SD card?

Cards are cheap enough that it's easy to try another one.

By the way, for all those about to buy a garmin mini... I bought a highly rated 128GB card for my mini, and I was never able to format it in the mini at first. Tech support had me format the card using my computer. After that, the garmin mini is ablew to reformat the card at any time.

Also, while I am here, beware of connecting to your Garmin internal WiFi if you have an Eero Mesh wifi network in your house. My home wifi conflicts with the garmin wifi, not letting it connect most of the time. I have to drive my truck a block away from my home to connect to the garmin wifi.

What do you mean “ablew to format at any time” ? I’m about to pull the trigger on the mini so wanted to make sure this isn’t a mistake.

Once I formatted my micro SD card using my computer, the Garmin Mini was able to use the card. It can also reformat the card internally now, which it could not do before I formatted it on my computer.

Anyone have more info on the polarized filter for the Garmin Mini dash cam? One of the videos I watched, mentioned the GoPro polarized filter lens worked for this, but are all circle style GoPros the same in order to fit this? Thanks!

I bought a Micro Center brand 128GB Class 10 card. You can buy them at the store (assuming one is near you), on line from them, or I think from Amazon.

As far at the polarized lens, is that a real issue? The test videos I downloaded onto my phone were very sharp on a very sunny day.

My understanding is that the polarizing filter is most beneficial if you are having an issue with glare off of your windshield. I don't have the filter myself, so I can't speak from first-hand experience.

Any slick options to run a camera in the back? Or can you atleast run 2 mini garmins and video playback both of them on your phone?

Yes and yes via the Garmin Drive app. I run the usb cable from my rear facing Garmin Mini along the rear pillar, floorboard, and then into the center console where I get switched power from the factory USB port. Works great!

I checked my footage and did see some glare at certain times of the day. I bought the $20 lens as a little extra insurance. If I ever need to see a license plate, and it was blocked by glare, that would really suck.
