Well that was an easy dash cam install.

To me the quality is similar to the front facing camera. The Garmin Mini cuts through the light tint very well imo.

People remove their dash cam when parked? Lol. That's half the reason I got mine, so I could catch that a-hole who backs into me in the parking lot and drives off..

Agree. That’s ludicrous to spend time to remove!

UPDATE: Nevermind I was using the wrong cable, all good now I'm an idiot.

I'm trying to set up and got the sandisk ultra 128GB and having a hard time formatting. I haven't hooked up to the truck yet but when i hook it up to the computer no matter what I do the camera flashes green on the side and yellow on the bottom. I took the memory card out and formatted on the computer (eFat???) and when put back into the camera still get the green and yellow flashing.

    Glad I could help!

About the formatting... on my mac I had to select something like Microsoft FAT. It specifically warned that it was an old format, but the newer FAT formats are not compatible with the Garmin.

I found it worked better when I reformatted in the camera using the app on my phone.

As long as your card is able to format in the camera, there is no reason to use a computer. I must have had a stubborn SandDisk card. Tech support had me format it only once in the computer, to get it working.

Yeah I'm glad mine worked in the camera because it would not allow me to choose FAT on Windows 10, at least through the Windows Explorer version of formatting.

Does it cut off when you turn the car off using the dongle?

Will connecting to the mirror void any warranty on a new Tacoma? Maybe check with Toyota?

Yes, for sure. No more power train warranty if your dash cam fries your mirror.

In all seriousness it won't change your warranty at all

Just looked at my mirror and it already has something connected to it. Is that the SOS or Dynamic Navigation?

Did anyone have any problems frying their circuit? One of the reviews on Amazon said that his 2020 TRD Sport ended up with a fried circuit. Dealer covered it under warranty he says but can anybody clarify on this?

This has been debunked and also we are all running the newer version of this cable. I've had no issues.
