So, how did your install go?

I was able to acquire a dongar power adapter in the end.

 

Install was super easy. I'm running a Garmin too, but it's a Garmin 47 so it's got a little LCD. Honestly, I forget it exists half the time, maybe only when it chimes ON/OFF lol
As far as the adapter itself, I've had zero issues. Also, it looks like you got a newer redesigned version. Appears more rugged compared to the one I have. Check it out.

 

I have the dongar for my mini 2 but does anyone know if he makes one that has full time power? It would be nice to be able to see what’s going on all the time.

They think of everything these days.

 

They sell a constant power one and also this one (https://dongar.tech/products/garmin-parking-mode-cable), but the "Constant Power Cable" mentioned by Caribe Makaira above seems like a quality option to have if you want to toggle power usage. Though I appreciate the parking mode functionality, I just didn't want to get into the weeds with running the cable thru the entire cabin (at least not yet). I experience most of the road insanity in my area while I'm driving. Also, since I have the car parked up few days at a time during the week...knowing something isn't running power off the battery is nice.

I too don’t want to run a cable all through the cab, which is why I went with the dongle in the first place haha.
