I have had the garmin mini fire a few months. Shortly after i put it in i stopped being able to view video with my phone. Using an S9. Anyone have any ideas or experience?

I've tried the obvious reboots and unistall reinstall things.

I like everything else about the camera.

I emailed the company last Monday about stock status. This was their reply:
Hi Rob, thanks for the interest.

Thanks for the interest. There’s a delay in manufacturing out of Asia due to New Years and then a prolonged corona virus shutdown. There’s a huge backlog being sent to Amazon right now. You can expect a small number of units to show as on Amazon “available” by the end of the week, but real shipping time will vary on where you are. Once that shipment is sold out, I’m predicting another delay to restock.

So, I just kept an eye on Amazon and as soon as it was in-stock, I ordered it.

Are the videos still downloadable via the microSD card? Maybe try another phone to see if it's specific to the phone or app?

That is a good call trying another phone. I'll give it a try.

Great solution. This is a nice setup for sure. Do any of you guys know where I can source a short usb to micro-usb to go from the adapter to the camera? Well, I'm sure I can find one online, but anyone have a source of one that works with this camera?

    Thanks!

I just looked in my junk electronics drawer and found a 6" USB to microUSB. I think it was a charger for my Bose noise cancellation earbuds.

Thanks! That's funny b/c while I was waiting on a reply and did the same thing .... the same EXACT thing. I found a 6" cord from my Bose ear buds. LOL

    Works great, thanks!

I want to get this as I hate running wires, but I park outside downtown. Are there any cameras that would work with this and record if someone bumped me while parked?

How do you like this camera/ setup? Could you post a sample vid of how it records? The garmin 55 seems nice n simple but I like how this uses the GoPro mount. I’d like to use it if I can. Also is this easy to use like the garmin?

Very nice! So basically it will powering up the dash cam 24/7 correct? I think the power on the mirror is always on.

Check out this thread for options to mount a Garmin to the truck's GoPro mount.

Amazon indicates that the USB adapter I ordered earlier this week arrives next week. Mini cam arrived yesterday, but the mem slot will not lock in my card. Replacement arrives today.

It turns the camera off with the key; at least with my 12 pin model.

As ShirtTucker said, the power to the mirror in the Tacoma turn on/off with the key.

I got my camera installed with the Amazon adaptor. It was extremely nice to not have to find keyed power, tap into it, run 10' of wiring through the whole interior, etc.
Unfortunately, the only good spot I found for the camera (where it is hidden behind the mirror) obstructs the ambient light sensor and causes my mirror to be dark almost all the time. It's kind of sucks, but I guess I'll just get used to turning the auto dimming off each time I start the truck.
