Replaced the seat covers in my Taco today, the ones I put on 20 years ago served their purpose. Here's what I found underneath : 20191215_145842.jpg
Here's what I put on this afternoon :
Update, these are from ebay seller Real Seatcovers.

I got them on ebay, probably a knock off. I will see how long they last.
    Update :
Real Seatcovers is the name of the seller I got the covers from.

Those definitely aren't Wet Okole. They fit much tighter.

I made sure I could get them on as tight as I could so I took the seats out and installed on the garage floor.

My first Tacoma was a 1996 with that exact same interior (one w/o covers)! Makes me miss it. My seats were definetly not in that good of shape, I should have added covers in 2003 when I got it!

Good seat covers make all the difference in the world in preserving your seats over the years.

Mine stayed in pretty good shape with an annual cleaning but eventually the foam was getting pretty uncomfortable! Truck had 320K miles on it. Ultimately I sold it and bought a 1999 for power windows, locks, and a locker. Of course the seats were awful (the buckets don't age as well as teh 60/40 bench) so they got replaced with Corbeau seats which are great.

    OME and worth every penny.
The weakest link of many cheaper covers are the crappy straps underneath. Maybe a seamstress and some better elastic and have a good set for 100. Not sure what carhartt has under them. Dickies could use some upgrade.

Did a little more tugging on the covers after I sat on them and to break in. Should smooth out and fit better over time.

Another update: Not related to the seat covers but going back into time. I still have the original head unit and the add on 3 cd disc changer sitting in a box in the closet. Kind of neat finding stuff that I have saved and put away thinking that I would need if I ever sold the truck. If I ever sold it, what I have in it now would all go with it. I never expected to keep it this long but it has never failed me and is a good investment. It is family now!

Update: 2 1/2 years later, the covers started wearing through after I put my lift in. I found some other seat covers, Cal Trend. I used to sell these at my work and forgot about them and then found them online.
Here is what I have now...
    20220909_201254.jpg 20220909_201248.jpg 20220909_201155.jpg
I just put them on a few hours ago, a little heat in the sun and the wrinkles should go away.
