I just ordered a Westin Bug Guard for my 2010. The instructions say to just screw it into the factory holes under the hood, but when I do the hood won't latch closed. Doesn't seem like there's really any other way to attach it. The hood is pretty much flush to the grill when closed. It doesn't look there's room for anything to stick out through there.

Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?

My 08 has a strip of rubber along the seam where the hood meets the front of the truck and seals it. Maybe yours is just too tight. Try taking off the rubber strip (if you have one).
