I did this for the prototype harnesses that @NoOne engineered for @MESO :

I just took power for mine off of the 7 pin trailer harness. Works perfectly.

I avoid t-taps at all cost! The mess I found of t-taps in my motorhome wiring was unbelievable. Use something better like solder and heat shrink especially exposed to the elements.

Selective? No. Use of research, yes.

And I would guess someone like you who has been around this site for a while, maybe you would perform your own research, but I guess not.

Yeah, it’s really bright for a small bar. Install took maybe 10 minutes

Anyone know why Opt7 says "Blind Spot Sensor Equipped Vehicles Must Hard-Wire Directly to Tail lights"?

Does the truck detect if something is plugged in to the trailer harness and disable the blind spot system?

I want to add a third brake light to my softopper using the CURT 56584 T-harness, but now I'm wondering if the truck may behave differently thinking a trailer is attached.

Those look great, but seem expensive. Maybe the build quality justifies the expense?

It is 25% off right now. It almost tempted me, but new tires are happening next week.

Not assuming that’s meant for me at all, but I for one am def not upset about it. The decreased illumination time and increased brightness of the brake lights is worth the trade-off to me for the obvious increased safety.
