I have had Landcruisers since 1973. I am the better part of 73 years old now and have dealt with high performance cars since the 1970's, restored vintage pickups, off-roaded,camped, and hunted all of my life. I decided that I would like to try a double cab off road Tacoma, so I came here and read so much bullshit that I knew could not be true because of my past history with Toyota. Sure enough. on a little trip out in New Mexico, I just bought one. The wife drove home in our LX470 and I in the Tacoma. Trailer pkg, premium&tech pkg w/JBL, tonneau cover, mudguards, stainless exhaust tip and Quicksand color. What a wonderful machine. I-40 crosses the continental Divide on the way home. The auto trans shifts smoothly and quietly, I could boogie with the semi's, listen to the satellite, all in perfect comfort. The little truck got 22.5 mpg on the 300 mile trip home while our Lexus, which is a wonderful car, got 18 mpg. So the point is....lighten up abit and ENJOY your truck. Anyone that reads this forum would be scared to death to try one of these great little trucks and as a result miss out on a great fun- to- drive machine. :crapstorm:

Yeah, I loved my Taco..... Until I came back to TW. Apparently it's just a piece of shit and I made the biggest mistake of my life buying one.

I wonder how many active 3rd gen users there are compared to the tens of thousands of trucks sold since last year.

Not sure of the answer to your question, however, almost all of them (users) have started a thread about something wrong with their trucks...

I sometimes feel guilty for NOT hating mine after reading some of the crap on here. That said, I love this forum and have received a lot of great advice from a lot of great people!

Maybe a mod could help us. Let's assume 1,000 active users in 3rd gen section (which is probably a very high estimate).

Now let's get an estimate on 3rd gen trucks sold since launch last year. We'll be conservative and say 10k trucks per month (this is lower than actual). So 10k trucks since launch of Sept, 2015 = 120,000 trucks.

0.83% of Tacoma owners on an internet forum bitching.

Yep, thats all I needed to see. Tacoma's are pieces of shit and Toyota fucking sucks.

No truck out there to buy is perfect... if there was one, we would all have bought it already!

Sad to see TW user-base degenerate so much in recent months as it once was a great place.

So, let me get this right. Someone spends a bunch of money on a truck and it has issues, they are a whining little bitch if they point it out and need to stfu. You spend the same amount of money on a similar truck and don't have the same issues, so you have the right to tell them they are a whining little bitch.
I think it's funny that people start a thread to bitch about people who have legitimate issues with something they spent a fair amount of money on.
