    Thanks man!

I'm not sure why this all went down, but 2 guys pulled up in an audi a4 (older model) with 7 cop cars behind them - cops jump out, guns pointed (straight into our office, by the way) We had the secretaries and office managers get into the warehouse for this - 3 block walls and rolls of carpet between them and the bullets should anything happen...

The whole thing took 45 minutes... the driver got out and backed up hands in the air without even flinching (of course, shirt off) and the passenger took a while to get out - when he did, he was shaken like a leaf in the wind, scared out of his mind! But I would be too if I knew I was going to jail and had several guns pointed at me...

Gotta hand it to the cops for keeping it cool, maintaining composure and doing their job well!!

Wow. You really saved that truck with all the paint. You should come to a Socal Tacomaworld meet. I'd like to see your try in person. Looks really nice.

I have a little less than $$$ invested in the whole thing, including truck, new shocks, tires, and everything I've done on this build thread... Haven't kept better track of it than that...

I might, if it's in San Diego -

It's the first time I've ever painted a vehicle, and up close it's noticeable - orange peel, bug legs (painted it outside) and because rustoleum takes so long to dry, when I was buffing it, I left some wrinkle marks (72 hours after the last coat - rustoleum says it takes 24 hrs to dry) that I sanded out a bit, but are still there - also, if you look at the light mod pictures, you'll notice I did not do the jambs of the doors... I could also have done a bit more prep work it even it all out... HOWEVER - It's 100% better than before, and for what I have in it and what it's used for, I'm happy with it...

But thanks for the comments and yes, painting it really really saved it!

Put some new corner lights on my truck because I broke my old one's when I took them off to paint... the duct tape was holding fine, but how long would that last?

    IMG_20120129_123518_f3157f4e84954f21f13c8f8276a944bad202e5ff.jpg

I was going to go clear corners, but these stock replacements were on Amazon for $5 a piece... Here's the pics...

    IMG_20120129_122824_40daa67f0956fa07cc7b64c629341ad6a47ce4f1.jpg

I had to pull the drivers side one in a bit with tie wire because it didn't fit quite right - not sure if its the light or the fender... with my truck, its a 50/50 question...

    IMG_20120129_133016_6cef2bd9099173fae10e27cf31bdedba26711006.jpg

The above pic shows that misfit... below is the tie wire I tied to the light and pulled through into the engine bay - this is just next to the battery on the side.

    IMG_20120129_134128_c78404de915e75837d3d8d15108175797333ca49.jpg

Below is the fit after I pulled the back (sharp corner point to back of truck) in with tie wire - it's not going to rust either, because its stainless steel and because I live in So Cal where things just don't rust as quickly... woot! However, now that I have these new corners on it, I think I'll be needing new headlights on it too... the yellow in the headlights is after I've sanded them and re-polished them to remove that crap.

Thanks for the complements - It's obviously a work in progress, but it's mechanically sound...

EXCEPT for a vibration that is most noticeable between 55-65 mph - I've had the wheels re balanced and alignment - the alignment guy (who I watched do the work) also checked the bushings in the front end and they seemed ok too...

This is my first set of tires on this truck ( i replaced them when I bought the truck) and I think they may be the cause - I'm calling discount tire on Monday to ask if they'll take them back...

Added an ultra guage to my truck - I had wanted a tach, but figured to reaplce the stock gauges with one that had a tach, this was worth the money because it gives so much more...

How do you like the ultra guage. Im wondering if you think its worth the money or if the scan guage 2 is better? Just looking for some input on how you like the ultraguage so far.

Being that I've had it for a total of 40 miles - I LOVE IT! I like the bigger screen than the scan gauge seems to have (as seen in pictures somewhere)

I bought this because I wanted an RPM gauge. This just happened to be easy to install and added many features beyond the RPM gauge - I realize I could have bought a cheaper RPM gauge, but I was looking at replacing my oem gauge panel to get the one with the RPM gauge included... Hope that answers your question...
