What am I NOT going to like about my 2017 Tacoma?

    EDITED; SEE BELOW.
A few weeks ago, I finally pulled the trigger (put a deposit down) on buying a brand new truck. I have been driving my 2004 regular cab 2WD 2.4L manual for around 5 and a half years. I like it but it has seen better days and it has 220k miles, i bought with 80k in Nov. 2011.

The truck I ordered from the factory is going to be a TRD Sport, manual, long bed, access cab, w/technology package, and TRD exhaust.

My question to y'all is exactly as I said it in the title. What are some things that I might find annoying or stupid in my 2017?

EXAMPLE: I already know I'm going to hate the rear view mirror. I have never, and will never like the auto-darkening pieces of S. They are so painfully slow to darken, compared to a simple flip, and they darken just enough to where headlights wash out any detail of whats behind you, but not enough to where you know where the headlights are exactly. Both of my parents cars and my brothers car all have them and i think they suck.

EDIT: I love my Tacoma but it is definitely not without its issues. I can see a lot of people asking "what the S are you doing already looking for things you won't like?"
I want honest opinions from current owners about their trucks. I've had my heart set on buying a 3rd gen since the moment I saw the 2016s, but my financial situation did not allow me to even think about one until recently. Every vehicle will have things people like and don't like, but those won't be the same for each owner. I have test driven 4 different 2017s and I liked everything I experienced, mostly because what I have now is so basic, anything is better. Quirks here and there are no big deal for me, I just want to know what to look out for.
Thanks to everyone for your info and keep it coming.

The low end torque, a leaking 3rd brake light (i think this applies mainly to DC), squeaky clutch (if not maintained), squeaky leaf springs, chipped windshields, CPS recall, leaking and howling rear diff..... Enjoy OP! I love mine, however as I have not experienced any of the mentioned other than a howling diff.

Edit: With that said...if you hvaen't even taken delivery and you are already looking for stuff to NOT like about the truck. You are going to HATE it when you get it in your driveway. Just my $.02. Just enjoy it and drive it.

I think it depends on the truck you got. When I went to buy my truck I test drove a dark grey OR A/T first because my wife did not care for the blazing blue (my favorite color) and while I drove it I noticed some interesting sensations that could be easily described by many of the complaints on here. At the time I had never heard of this site or any of the problems, I just thought that the truck drove like this. When I got back to the lot I decided to get the color I wanted, sorry honey :), which meant I was taking home the blazing blue OR A/T. I got about halfway through the paperwork and then test drove the blue truck. This truck did not exhibit any of the strange behavior the other one did. Again I was not aware of the known problems and had never done the research. To this day I have not had any issues with my truck and I love it. If I had bought the gray truck I think I would have ended up being very disappointed. Good luck!

I think you aren't going to like the 50/50 craps shoot of whether your going to have 0 significant problems or get to experience most of them.

Howling diff, squeaky leafs, spazmatronic transmission, flappy hood, 1800-2400rpm vibes, etc.

He got the M/T so knock that out---and I think flappy hoods were addressed in 2017 models, unless I'm mistaken

People nowadays expect vehicles to have all types of features. Auto dimming mirrors are here to stay. As are auto headlights. Auto climate control. Auto parking and auto drive will soon be the norm. Get used to it.

What's a problem for one person may not be an issue at all for another person. Different people have different expectations.

I'm going to guess that if something like a mirror bothers you, you're going to be annoyed by lots of shit on the truck. Lol.

Hopefully you have the best of luck with your new truck and not experience the following:

    Rear end clunk
    Dash rattle
    Driveline vibration
    Water leaks in cab
    Differential leak
    Howling tranny
    Hood delaminating
Truck stuck in gear randomly after car washes

The rear view mirror will be the least of your worries. Best of luck

Oh, lets not forget that the rear end could lock up randomly on highway and spontaneously explode...sending the truck into a tornado like spin.

Instead of looking for things to dislike before you get it, be stoked that it's a 3rd gen, find the little things that are great about it. Like how awesome this body style looks, as opposed to the last decade of mediocrity awash in a sea of more mediocrity that was presented to us.

Can you expand on the dash rattle please? Ive recently discovered a rattle with music about 35. I did't get premium audio to turn the base down and keep the colume low. Is this reason to take back to Toyota?

OP hopefully with your late build date and these problems have been corrected by the time you get it. Ive been fortunate not to have the problems a lot of others are experiencing. But then again I grew up on 2 stroke motor cycles and the power band of the truck has always reminded me of riding my old 2 strokes.
