i put some pliers around the antenna while slightly gripping them and hit the back side of the pliers with a hammer which will slid the ball off the end..

make sure you have a way to catch the ball cuz it way go flying!!!!!!

putting it back on it was a nice snug fit :D:D:D:D if not snug going back on just a little 5 min epoxy and it will be GOLDEN

I haven't noticed much difference. As for the ball on the end, I couldn't get mine off without totally destroying it so I used a plastic end of one of my Little Wilsons and it was a perfect fit.

Just a bunch of old crap
My stock antenna is my height gauge for when I go into parking garages. If I hit the antenna, I know I'm within 6 inches of hitting the rooftop and I get out to look. Usually it's fine because I'm only at 3" of lift but it's a mental reminder...

I have the stock one and sometimes I find it annoying. I can't even go to the mall without it hitting shit because of the low overhead signs. My Tacoma is completely stock. Apparently no ones vehicle is over 5 and a half feet tall. Some guy in a Volvo lost is storage on his roof because of the low clearance.

I run a 12" cheappy from O'reillysthink I paid $10 bucks for and it picks up just as well as the stocker did. The only reason I switched is the stocker hit my garage door and sounded like it was tearing the house down when I backed in the garage.

    Too few to list.
I like the oem antenna, it lets me know how low the beams are in parking garages.
