So far I have been to cleghorn ridge, Indian truck trail, and berdoo canyon.

I have a stock 3rd gen TRD OR and would love some more trails to hit. So far berdoo canyon was the hardest and scraped my tube steps, and I do have a RCI front aluminium skid btw if that means anything.

Also want to add I'm willing to drive 2 hours out or even more if there's camping and nice views.

Rowher Flats and Drinkwater Flats. They're both up in north LA county outside Santa Clarita/14 freeway. Both have a few obstacles that could potentially ruin tube steps though; I foresee sliders in place of tube steps in your near future ;)

I remember Miller jeep trail, lytle creek, some runs in anza borrego etc.. being pretty stock friendly. X2 on the sliders, It's a small price to pay to keep your rockers from getting bashed in which costs $$$$ to fix. I wheeled my 01 ext cab a good amount of places with only coilovers and deaver rears, no armor, and 32" tires. Just be careful and don't let your friends "convince" you that you can make an obstacle when you know it isn't going to happen. A bruised ego is a lot cheaper than a battered rig.

You definitely want sliders for Miller Jeep trail, unless you've got 3" min of lift but even then it's risky. Sliders are a great investment as are stronger skid plates. Of course, once you start adding all that weight you'll need to upgrade the suspension.

I live in San Diego and would like to know where to go. I have stock suspension and tires, but I have RCI skids and Avid Off-road bolt-on frame sliders.

Sounds good! Hope you can make it.

There are some good local trails depending on how crazy you want to get with your truck. Bear Valley trail is a nice drive out in Pine Valley and I have seen a 2wd open diff do it with a little skinny pedal. Black Mt trail just North of Ramona is pretty easy but has a great view at the top. We do Santa Ysabel truck trail and transfer over from there.

Thanks for the info. I'll make a solid effort to make it to the meet-up this Thursday and I'd prefer to go out on the trails with some experienced people plus it's always better to go with someone.

Yeah, no worries. We have a solid group of locals who try and hit the trails on a regular. Different experiences across the board.

Carrol Canyon is always another option but had some pretty strenuous trails so just make sure you do your research before going out. I've only done a few of them out there.

Gorman OHV is pretty nice... It's situated in the Los Angeles/ Los Padres forest with a ton of trails and great sites to see all of IE as well as camp sites with fire pits/grills etc. Its past Santa Clarita kinda up my Pyramid Lake, you exit Smokey Bear Rd. off the 5N
