I just had this panel replaced under warranty for a different issue and this is the new panel. As you can see it's got what appears to be shiny spots that almost look like greasy finger stains. Nothing will remove this. I looked online and saw where other people have had similar issues. I swear, what the hell is it with Toyota QC control these days???? If there was one small area thats one thing, but i got like 4 or 5 of these damn shiny spots. I expect more out of a $32k truck.

looks like your hand might have "buffed" the paint so it is smooth?

My 2015 has them as well... I was going to ask about it at my first oil change next month. I've only tried soap and water, but they didn't come out.

wont come off, tried a couple of Meguiars products...no luck. If you look at the spots up close you can actually see small difference in the texture

are intentionally trying to find things wrong with your truck so you have something to complain about? I mean spots on the door where your arm has rubbed, rock chips from where you drive it, what's next? Or did I miss one

These are not spots where his arm has rubbed... I have the same thing going on in my truck. The spot I notice most is on the passenger side up by the tweeter... Pretty sure no one has had their arm there in the 3 months I've owned it.

And it bugs me too... I bought a new truck so I wouldn't have to worry about little blemishes and things like this. It is pretty annoying. And I'm sure OP is upset since this is a replacement panel for a similar issue.

I don't have those spots, just where I put my arm but they can be wiped off, plus I used armor all and everything is shiny now :annoyed:

Since you just had the panel replaced (was it because of this?), it's probably the mechanic's greasy finger stains. Try WD40. If no change, complain to the dealer.

Have it on my new 2015 as well. Gotta live it as it won't come off. Gotta be a defect when getting stamped in the machine, because I went to the lot and looked at a bunch after mine. And most of them had the same spots directly above the tweeter.

Have any of you with this issue tried using an ammonia based cleaner on the panel? Windex would be the go to for me. If it's not from an installer's or the driver's body oil, it's probably leftover mold-release. Another step to consider before we go down the blame train is confirming where the vehicle was manufactured using the VIN. A simple google search will provide you the link. It may be possible to correlate the defect, if it is in-fact a defect, to either the Mexico plant or the Texas plant.
