What are these shiny spots on the door panel top? Defect?

The situation continues here.

LOL FUNNY STUFF RIGHT HERE. I"M IMAGINING OP IS IN THE SAME CONSTANT STATE OF RAGE AS HIS UNC BUDDY.

That's where my arm rests, I never thought much of it other then oh hey my arm!

 

At first I was thinking somebody had got carried away and used too much Soul Glo.


But then when you said it had a different texture, I switched my thoughts... I bet it has something to do with the panel getting exposed to too much heat in those areas.. Some times when you heat plastic it will shine, and no matter what you wont be able to remove it. Or something was off in the releasing agent in the mold causing the difference... All during the making of it... It's a defect in other words. Just a guess.

 

it was a defect, they local sales rep said they will have to address it with the factory

I've got this 'issue' as well. I know its purely esthetics but if you buy something brand you sort of expect some sort of QC on such an obvious thing
