There are two breathers secured to the left side of the bay. One fits in a smaller hose than the other. When I do a search, I am only seeing ones that fit a typical fuel hose (5/16?). & it just so happens that the smaller fitting one is the one that needs replacing.

Pretty sure those are for your differential breathers.

Ok. So these are both for the dif. Since Toyota doesn’t put dimensions, I put “differential breather 2001 Tacoma” in to search for buying on Amazon & the ones that came up fit the larger 5/16 hose. Just wanna make sure I have the correct search wording (in this case, you’re sayin’ front differential) & get the right one which would need to be smaller (have to get hose size). (3/16?)
    Thank you!

take the breathers to advance/autozone/oreilly and find the correct size hose. It will be like $1.5 per foot for bulk replacement

Right. But I don’t necessarily need the hose so much as the correct size breather. One being larger than the other. I’ll look again at a Toyota site diagram.

One probably is for the (assuming auto) transmission.

The Amazon breather screws into rear differential and 3/8 - 5/16 hose.
I've never found one with a hose Barb fitting. See if yours has threads by trying to unscrew it.

The front and trans breathers usually have barbs and extended hoses

So here are the two that are secured to the engine bay. Thinkin’ I actually need both. However, as you can see, one is smaller. That is the one that does not show up in a standard (not a whole lot of searching) 2001 Tacoma diff breather search.

I ran across the same issue when I went to replace these. It doesn’t seem like people read your question before answering.

If I had to guess I’d say it’s 90930-03172 based on the photo and description of the transfer case breather in the following post.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ny-transfer-case-and-e-locker-breather.15093/

It says it’s not compatible with my 2004 V6 4x4 but they aren’t always accurate.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Big one is diff, small one is differential actuator motor. Both hoses will lead to the diff. One is a tiny vacuum line to the actuator, the other to the diff case
