What can I expect to pay OTD?

    What's up everybody? I've been reading the forums for about a month now and decided I'm going to get a 2016 dcsb sr5 4 cylinder. I've never owned a truck so before I go get anything I thought I'd ask a few things here. I looked at the master package thread to see a good starting price point, but what can I realistically expect to pay OTD? Im in Socal and I see a few of these at Msrp for 28k, any thoughts would help.

    Welcome aboard. Prices vary. I got $750 over MSRP, but others have done better. I got exactly what I ordered, which matters to me. I'm east coast. Good luck!!!

    Welcome to TW, if you get a 2.7, get a manual, if I had to do it over again I would get the v6 with a manual, just my two cents.

    If you're getting the 4, do NOT get an auto, especially if you're getting anything bigger than a reg cab.

    yea, go with the V6, and if you don't mind SoCal traffic get the manual trans. I paid 500 below msrp (of course that wasn't out-the-door)

    For sure, I thought about the v6 but it seems the cost is waaay more. And I want my wife to drive it every now and then but can't drive stick. But, what did you pay OTD?

    I got cha, so I'm guessing it's a slow truck then. I mean I'm not looking for speed in a 4 cylinder, but I don't want to trade in a month later either.

    Honestly I love my truck with manual transmission, and I would recommend you and your wife learn to drive stick.

    Everything I have been reading states the new 6 speed auto is much improved. That's what I am going with when I find the one I am looking for.

    The auto 2.7 is a dog. Bad gearing, no power, just BLAH to drive. The 5 speed 2.7 is snappy, growly, with plenty of juice and is just FUN

    Then 3.5L V6 with manual transmission is the way to go. If you don't know why, then consider searching TW.

    I test drove a double cab 4cyl auto, to be honest I was expecting it to be an absolute slug but to my surprise it had more pep than I thought it would. But don't be fooled, it ain't going to be fast by any means. I also didn't test it on the freeway which you should definitely do before you decide.

    I'm a manual transmission guy through and through and ended up with a manual myself (3.4l first gen).I'm sure the manual 4 banger would be a better bet than the auto, but test them both out for yourself before deciding.
