I'm betting the additive is glycol phosphate. I'm just making sure that it's polyethylene friendly, which it sounds like it is. That makes it easy. :cookiemonster:

Printed my daughter a 1:1 scale baby Bearded Dragon. This thing came hot off the printer with 0 need for any sanding or filling, quite amazing honestly.
After printing another one, one of my very first prints ever on the machine, I finally figured out the need for a new slicer program that offered more versions of support, and more options overall.
Im now using Lychee occasionally and even sometimes the OOB AnyCubic slicer, but am transitioning to VTS (Voxeldance Tango) but have yet to fully explore it. I can confirm it offers some new options, but need more time with it.

Also, holy crap that's big money, but the automatic spaghetti detector would have me sold. :spending:

Have you looked into an Octoprint/octopi setup? 1) it's super handy anyway, but 2) there are a few plugins were you can add in spaghetti detection and stop prints automagically

Basically a small webserver you run on a raspberry pi to interface and control your printer, then add in whatever plugins you desire. real fun to tinker with.

Yeah, big money for sure but most of what I print these days are structural parts that need stronger filaments. Plus I'm at a point where tinkering with and troubleshooting my Ender 3 is getting tiresome. The AMS/multi-material unit also gives me more options even if there is more filament waste (though some of that can be mitigated a little).

The katana is a collapsible print-in-place model that I scaled to 200mm height: https://www.printables.com/model/543260-collapsing-katana-v2-print-in-place

How it works makes more sense when you see it in the slicer:

I'll get there one of these days. I'm still throwing parts at the printer itself to get it to behave. :anonymous:

That's a cool file. I'm on a 3-S1, I feel your pain. As soon as I fix one part another breaks. And on the days I'm not fixing it, I'm playing the game of "was that a bad slice, worn nozzle, temperature swing, or just a bad level? The answer is yes."

Speaking of my Ender 3, i started running into an issue where the printer would just halt mid-print after about 45 minutes. This was happening whether it was enclosed or not, so I replaced the Creality 4.2.2 mainboard with a BTT SKR E3 Mini V3 and switched to Klipper firmware using the RatOS image. Took some manual tweaking in the config file and I still have some tuning to do but it’s running. I had a 7” Pi touchscreen sitting around so I’m using that with Klipperscreen. Using the touchscreen is so much faster and easier than navigating the menus with the click knob. The Raspberry Pi is piggybacked onto the display in the case so in essence I made a DIY Creality Sonicpad.

Cool....so, multi-material, does that mean FDM and SLA/MSLA both, or other FDM options?

It's still all FDM but it lets you automatically switch to different color filament for certain parts of your print, for example. Or if you have a print that requires a lot of supports, you can have it automatically switch to a specialized filament at the support interface (easier to remove or if you want fancy you can use a dissolvable support filament). The unit works with the printer to automatically cut and unload the current filament and load the new filament and purge the nozzle over a specialized chute, which is what leads to filament waste. Some mitigation can be done by purging into the infill where it's not visible, but for smaller models it's not as effective.

Thanks, sounds like a wonderful machine indeed.
    What is the working volume/area?

256x256x256mm, so slightly larger than my Ender 3.

Just bought a P1S before the black-friday sale. It is an absolute game changer. Worth every penny! Only regret is not buying one sooner.
The initial cost may seem high but it is completely turn key ready no tweaking. Also it is blazing fast.

I regret not backing the original Kickstarter, but it was a lot of money to put into a brand new company so I decided to wait it out. I have been pleasantly surprised by it so far. It's printed PLA, PETG, and ASA so far and I've done zero tuning and every print has come out excellent. Most recent print was this gravity rewind spool holder in ASA, and the AMS allowed me to print the frames in two colors without any manual intervention.

    Ahh

And the machines posted aren't even much!

I was initially expecting a good 3D printer for home to be like $2-3k.

Oh no. You definitely win the cool machine prize. I don't think I've cleared 600, including all repairs and mods.

No but really I thought they were way higher priced when I initially posted here.

If a $1k machine is 'really good' I may just buy one for funsies.

I'm cutting a bunch of metal (or did earlier) as I dial in the new torch I got; even running the same machine, you have to re-dial all your shit for each thickness just because you're using a different torch.
