Meh, buy a thing on Amazon, turn a hex key, let the laptop talk to it for a second, push the go button.

.. and then hope like hell it doesn't carve its initials into the bed. Again.

    Yeah.
So far I have only bought filament specific for something I have planned to print. But yeah, if you don't have the type you need, you gotta buy a spool of it. I have a decent range of the basic types now - PLA, PLA+, PETG, TPU, and Air PLA. I don't have a hood and exhaust, so no ABS. I did buy vacuum storage bags and a dryer.

I can't decide if I want to make it curve around the 90 and do two walls, it just do two separate areas.

Thinking of wasting some filament on these.

Didn't know this thread existed, been printing at home for years, but just got a Bambu X1C at work (need one for home!). Currently printing an Oculus stand for my coworker, but I've been printing a ton.

I recently bought a printer myself and was directed to this thread. A week ago I had no idea what an .STL file or G-code even was.
Of course I had to print out the cool little toys.

some table legs that I modified/shortened for a train layout.

I had no idea they could do articulating joints.

And my first Tinkercad design, a spool adapter. Next one will be sized down 1.5mm.
The spool I measured from just happened to be slightly bigger than the others, so it needed some light sanding to fit all of them.

Some plugs to fill the holes and stiffen up the arm. They worked.

and the reason behind buying in the first place, to make stuff for my model layouts. Still learning.

Found a neat storage box on Printables.https://www.printables.com/model/816278-stortage-box-micro. Creator has a few more sizes as well.
Turned out nice, still need the 6 metal rods/bolts to finish it, might be coat hanger wire, hole's are pretty small.

Edit, turns M3x30mm bolts were made for it.

My employer who is a research and development center just set up a lab for 3D Printing. This is new stuff for me to see and it was neat watching them recreate a volley ball with powder. They are still testing and experimenting. I think they are going to use this to recreate parts in house for our eyewear products instead of having them made elsewhere. Will be watching what they do.
