While there are plenty of desk drawer files out there, I wanted to make my own, for practice.
This is the frame, it needed to be full side and bottom as it will also be the center support for a small railroad.
I managed to get the holes in the base perfectly spaced, but failed on the ones in the back and did not notice until printing was at that point. Not a big deal as they won't really be visible. And it proves it's my creation. :p
    Learned 1st lesson on that.

Originally wanted to print it on end, but was concerned about bed adhesion over an 8+ hour print time. Going with it flat, it was only 6 hours, and stuck really well. I enabled "automatic supports" for the overhang, not knowing what to expect.
    And got this.

In retrospect, I should have angled that portion a bit and it would have done a better job.
But it had been designed for a vertical print and I didn't think about it.
    Lesson 2 learned.
But overall, happy with the result. Now to make the drawer part.

Printing the drawer this morning, about 2 hours in all 4 corners of the bed raised. The print itself remained on the bed. This was the result, so I stopped it.
Turned out to be a good thing. What was there was enough to show I needed to widen it 1.5mm to fit correctly.

next attempt, I took the little clips that come with the PLA rolls, trimmed off the curve and managed to clamp 3 of 4 corners. data plug is in the way.
The 4th started to raise, but I just pushed it down and separated just the corner off the bed and it seems fine now.
30 minutes past the goof and it seems fine.

Not sure why it would do this, the frame portion of the drawer remained flat the entire time. The only difference is color. Settings are the same.

How much should I pay for something like this to be printed?

I've got the files already -

Printed in "PLA" (I don't know shit about 3D printing)

Without slicing, I'm going to estimate roughly 1/4 of a spool plus 6 M3 bolts. 8-12 hours machine time, about 2-2.5 hours human labor time, not including painting the logo.

A typical spool costs between 15-30 dollars.

I have a good idea on how much it costs me. How much I charge on top of that, :notsure:

22hrs of print time someone else just mentioned, and material being "super cheap"

Then again, that's the CNC group so to us that spool you're quoting is super cheap compared to our own consumables

I'll send ya the file if you wanna knock it out for me!

Black as shown! It'll match the table and that way I can incorporate a little tray to hold said consumables

Currently printing some Cruise ducks. Not happy with the light blue filament, need to work on its print profile.

I found this one on Printables that has 5 shields and 10 nozzles/electrodes. I'm not seeing the remix that is 3/20/20. I'm guessing you want the latter?

Yeah, was offered to our group itself because he remixed it to hold more consumables.

For the same size enclosure, makes sense to hold more consumables versus less if one is already printing the material!

In a sec, I'm literally all over the place from ordering carbide bits from McMaster-Carr to looking at different LED lights for my new-to-be planted fish tank, and going over some CAD for work to be done in the next week or so

2nd attempt paid off. After I removed the clamps, the corners of the bed plate popped right up. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or just a characteristic of printing a full size piece. Either way, it worked.

Just need to double side tape it. It took the sag out of the board, gave me some storage space.

    What haven’t I changed?
Since we are all printing storage boxes these days I remixed one of the models to hold some piano tuning tools. One of my keys was out of tune after delivery and I couldn’t wait for the 2-3 months it would take for someone to come out and fix it. Other than changing the dimensions I also modified the interior to support a tray insert that I designed for it, making it a two-tier storage box.
