LOL that said, my CR-6Max does pretty decently, but it's not a Ender 3 even if it's made by creality and a bed slinger. Nozzle tip auto is pretty good, and since I have it in an enclosure tent, ABS is easy peasy.

As an educator, you can get AutoCad, Shaper 3D, and probably others for free with an education email (which is what I do). If you haven’t used any CAD or modeling software for a while it might be a learning process, bu there are a lot of good tutorials for the big products. I haven’t used it yet, but Tinker CAD is supposed to be simplified.
When I was in college, as an engineering major, I worked at General Dynamic Air Defense Systems Division as a Design Draftsman, and then and engineer in training. I used AutoCad and was vey good at it. I know how to represent and design objects and assemblies and worked on lots of projects and documentation and so on. That was more then 30 years ago, and I also regularly worked on Mylar with ink.
When I started using modern software, I really struggled with it. This was different than what I had experience with. It takes a minute to familiarize yourself with how to do things and the terminology. It’s definitely different than “back in the day”.
Are you setting all this up or are your tech people doing it? At my district, our tech guys have to do all of it and configurations are district controlled. You’ll need modeling software and a slicing program. Are you teaching a STEM class or extra-curricular?

Made a 3.5" hard drive caddy... but I don't think I'm going to use it directly. Instead going to build on it to make a free air NAS enclosure in 3-bay steps

Freaking FINALLY! I spent all of the mornings of June 5th and 6th trying to score 50% and 40% off respectively on a Creality K2 Plus Combo printer that Crealty was having a sale on...................didnt make it into either before they were sold out, but DID manage to actually get 30% off today and scored myself a Creality K2 Plus w/ multicolor CFS!

Will be a bit of a wait, but with the size of the print bed, the heating chamber and some other upgraded things Im really looking forward to getting it in October; I think the wait will be worth it.

3D printing my van back together, one piece at a time.
Window handles are still working great btw.
Driver side visor mount broke earlier in the week.
Broken pieces and attempts. Visor steel rod had a clip and a spring, I deleted them and threaded it. I had no clue as to what angle any of it was supposed to be, so went for flat and figured it out from there.

Ended up with this, 25 degree tilt, and it actually works fine, on one plane only, up and down, but swinging it to the side is a no go. So for now, this get's me 50% of where it needs to be.
Currently printing another with a compound angle to see what that does. Covering the side window is not that important, but it would be nice if it worked.

    What haven’t I changed?
I made a mount for a rear dash cam that I will hopefully be able to install soon-ish.

Attempting a dash mount for the motorcycle GPS. Mounts under the windscreen and should place the GPS just above the dash and hopefully close to centered. Where it currently sits on the handlebars is functioning fine, but really want it up in the line of sight while riding, so less head movement/eyes off the road trying to see it.
Pictured is upside down for printing. First test is PLA with minimal infill to see how it fits

    *Should be fine.

I have a PETG switch panel and haven't had an issue. It can soften and begin to warp at 180F, but I haven't seen that yet.

Hell, in that case I'm gonna melt and warp long before the panel

    Almost nailed it.

Centered to within looks good to me.

Need to go from 5 to 4mm under the screen, drop the upper part 2mm and extend it 4-5mm.
Otherwise, not bad for a first attempt.

Looks great. Do you plan on reprinting in PETG, ABS, OR ASA? PLA isn't UV resistant and will become brittle.

    I did last night. PETG.

Did some fine tuning and made the GPS parallel with the dash, it was slightly cocked off to one side and looked strange to the eye.

V for Versys, the green is just slipped behind it to see what it would look like. Might change it to an X.

Alright, so after tweaking PETG settings I think I have stringing down to a minimum and edges are printing smooth on test pieces, but now I'm really not sure the best way to print this.

I printed one last night before tweaking settings, with the main face for the Auxbeam as the bottom. Most of it turned out good except the face for the lower switches, it's a mess from the support layer.

If I print it upright as shown I'm worried the lower switches face will still look like crap from supports.
If I print it with the faces up it places supports throughout the entire backside and I'm worried it will be a mess to remove them all, and potentially cause the switch slots and tabs to break.

Supports everywhere in zigzag seems to make a mess of faces.
Tree supports looks like a nightmare to remove.

    How would you print this?
