Anyone here use polycam with a newer iPhone? I have a few complex shapes (mostly motorcycle parts) that I'd love to scan and then use the models to make things from. It doesn't look like the free version lets you export much in the way of models, so i'm one of you have used it and can tell me 1) if it's worth paying for and 2) if there are any alternatives you're aware of for lidar or optical scanning with an iphone.

I'm pretty happy with the outcome of the current near final tests on the panels, I've gone through and make the 3 switch overhead panel along side the driver side panel in addition to the 2 switch one.

I just want to tweak some minor things that probably won't even be noticeable to anyone but me since I've been staring at them non-stop lol.

Here's the outcome of the new designs.

long story short, my flag keeps getting caught on the corner of the rain gutter and is tearing. Anyone come across some sort of protector?

Here is my weird train of thought: change the length of your flagpole. :anonymous:

dont want to derail this thread but resizing the flag/pole or relocating it isn't possible. I think this print i found will work well enough.

I put in a ziplock bag for further investigation. I wonder if it actually came from China.

How in the heck did you print that so clean without any noticable support surfaces?

Still playing with the wind. :anonymous:
Re-designed the anemometer, it was originally horizontal with a trio of cups, couldn't get enough spin to light it up.
Made it vertical, redid one of my windmill bases with a clip to reuse the original support and added a 6 vane fan for added horsepower.

    it worked!.

Made a small change to raise the LED up so it can be seen better. Now we are waiting for a stronger, consistent breeze.

Should be pretty cool at night, it's a red/blue/green LED that cycles fairly quick.

Thats neat. Would be cool to have a line of LED from green to red to indicate wind speed.

Did you use bearings for the rotating parts? It looks like the bottom is a solid part.

there's a bearing at the bottom. The cap on the post has a 8mm pin, and a 608 bearing in the base of the body with the vane.
Same for the fan assembly, and the dynamo just spins on it's own.

A lot of trial and error lol. Yeah it's been a process of finding the right filaments and learning tricks as I just learned more and more about the process.

Also just hating seeing layer lines and other imperfect must people just wouldn't care about. Lol

The time spent was worth it. They look great. What kind of filament are you using?

    PET-CF, it's a little pricey but it's worth it.
