    Are you running an enclosure?

a warm enclosure tends to have a lower RH than the rest of the room, which helps a ton.

PETG is more prone to warping if the cooling is incorrect. I've never heard of it cracking. That might be an issue with the filament. I use the Sunlu dryer. I have used various brands of filament, but I have never needed to redry filament after 3 days of it sitting in the open. I'd say my room is around 60-70% humidity. Normal living conditions.

Has anyone had any issues with their Prusa mk4 (or any) printer wanting to always calibrate itself before each print?

On my Ender, I did that on purpose. I pasted G-code into my slicer so that it includes a Z-offset check after temperatures are reached. There's a menu option that will automatically insert lines of code into every slice.

    Did you check that?

This is what it did... You can see the pattern on the side was starting to get a little weird even before it cracked

Yeah that's pretty extreme, you printing in an enclosure or open air?

It looks like the layer didn't go down consistently in some areas. What slicer are you using btw?

It's open air, and this was an overnight print. Maybe it got too cool since the house heat goes down to 64 overnight. I use the most recent Creality slicer (before it changed to Creality print )

Enclosure would help a lot, when I had a a few Creality CR-6 when I was prototyping my panels in the earlier days id get issues with warping and layer separation till I bought one of those black box enclosures for like $50 and it pretty much eliminated warping from there on with petg/asa.

Also personally I think Creality slicer is kinda trash as someone who's used it when I had a K1 printer when it launched. Give Bambu Slicer a shot it's way more feature rich and the premade print profiles I find are more well tuned they even have the Enter 5 machine as a preset

The Old Creality slicer was extremely bad. It's changed a lot since the original version that ended use in like 2020. It's basically just straight cura now. I'll try the bambu one though. I have the prusa one too. I'll pick up some sort of enclosure though first

Slicers are free I'd start there, might even notice some more detail in other prints with pla, ect.

    I've had that happen.

For me it was intermittent underextrusion from nozzle clogging up. I never could figure out if it was variances in filament or if it was variances in temperature that was causing it.

I was running it at 235C, previously had made some other things from this same roll of PETG that were great, including another one of this exact item

What's the temp range of the filament you're using?

CR-PETG from creality, altered the presets for it because they weren't right from the defaults in the slicer. I think it is 230-260 temp range and the slicer wanted to run it too fast and at 220*

    Make it hot pink! lol

I wanted to do the same thing when I got a front cam but I ended up drilling into the under side of the letters and printing out a tall spacer to get the camera mounted.
