Have you tried 50/50 diluted Elmer's glue or glue stick on the bed? That's pretty much a go to for every print I do to make sure they stay down.

not yet. i had such good luck over the weekend with just cleaning the bed i was hoping it would work with just that. the first attempt on this print only had one corner lift before i stopped it. the second attempt went a little longer and pulled up from more areas on the bed.

its nice not having all the glue gunk on the bed, but might need to try it again

I just wash the plate after every print, just takes a minute and speeds up cooling the print to pop it off. I set the bed and print right in the sink and hit it with cold. :D Worth the piece of mind, I've had way too many lift up and ruin the print, waste my time.

i have been using only paper towels and water. something online said use diluted dish soap then spritz with IPA and let dry before putting back on the printer, but i haven't tried that yet.

With my ender 3 clone (wanhao i3) I got sick of prints lifting and went ultimate sticky shit and did painters tape plus glue stick. Nothing lifted after that haha and painters tape was fairly easy to remove from the bed. Helped mask a LOT of issues with the printer (bed warping, adhesion, lifting, etc).

Counting down the days until I get my P1S..

Yeah, prolly the best way. But I use regular dish soap, sponge (soft side only, not that green abrasive) and when it gets really stubborn, I hit it with Bike Brite, which is a motorcycle de-greaser. :anonymous:
And rinse well with hot water, just a few seconds really, then towel dry with the kitchen towel.

(prolly why I have to use the glue )

I've printed parts before without needing a brim, then one day they started lifting. I too thought maybe it was a cooling issue, especially since it was getting cold out and the printer was near a window, and figured I needed an enclosure, bought one, printed again and still getting a lift. Added a brim and zero issues after that.

A brim is even more important the farther away from center of the bed you get.

How old is your filament? Has it ever been dried? PLA is pretty forgiving for moisture but it'll still get worse over time and it'll affect adhesion.

i opened this pack of filament a week or two ago. i'm in colorado so its pretty dry all year. my printer is in my basement also. the only moisture would be from me sweating on my indoor trainer bike, but thats a solid 10-13 feet away from the printer and i open a window when im doing a ride.

    Yeah.
Are you using a glass bed or PEI? If it's only lifting on the outside edges of the plate, I'd try higher bed temps (+5 C or +10 C) to make sure the outer edges get warm enough. Water is the best to clean off glue stick residue, but I'd follow with IPA. I use e PEI bed and just wipe down with IPA. Add or widen the brim if I get lifting.

Doing my first print with a Micro-Swiss direct drive upgrade on my cheap-ass Aquila. It's looking pretty good so far.

Having an enclosed printer and a filiment dryer are keys to successful prints IMHO.

I purchased a brand new Creality K2 + and could NOT be happier.

Its solved all my old printing issues......it's got all the ease, flexibility and quality of a Bambu labs P1S, but it has a 350mm × 350mm × 350mm printing plate volume.

I loved the P1S, but it simply wasn't but enough to do what I needed.
As to enclosed VS unenclosed, I'd say enclosed every time, even based souly on the ability to print ABS as easy as PLA or PETG.

    What haven’t I changed?
I printed a cover for the cables going to my mirror dashcam. It also has the microphone mount for my head unit on the other side.

P1S "shipped" (aka they printed the label) on Friday, but finally started moving today. Assuming fedex doesn't mess it up like they usually do, it should be here Thursday!

I recently switched from Creality Slicer to Cura. Everything has been going relatively well. Today, I tried to print something in ASA. I switched my build plate to the PEI plate I bought on a suggestion for printing ASA, got re-leveled, and checked my slicer settings. First print crashed mere minutes in, as did the second. Checking the preview in Cura, I see that for some reason, when using a raft, the slicer didn't have the main piece printing it's first layer until after the first two layers of the supports had printed...meaning instant fail. Went back in, removed the raft, and tried printing using a brim...it lifted after about 4mm printed. Changed parameters and it lifted after about the 5th layer. That time, I noticed that the first layer printed at .2mm, even though I had layer height set at .16mm. I found new areas in the software to correct this. It now looks like it's going to print. :fingerscrossed: I'm over 10mm with 94mm left to error out. We'll see if this can print all night...I'll probably be awake every hour thinking I should check it. At least I'm retired and effed-up sleep can be adjusted for.

It's amazing how much you can learn screwing up.
