Quick preview of the drop in overhead mounts for 6/8 Gang panels I've been working on. No trimming, drilling, cutting, ect ect it just fits into the same space as the OEM panel and all the cables pass through the OEM holes in the back.

I created 3 versions of the 6 and 8 Gang.

Version 1: Only houses the panel
Version 2: Houses the panel and 1 OEM style short switch. (So if you have a OEM short switch like the rear locker in that space you just install it on right side.)
Version 3: Houses the panel with space for 2 OEM Style short switches. (Like in my case having the rear locker on the left side and the garage door button on the right.)

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
After the dicking around, I found the combination that is going to work. It printed all night and finished up this morning. Looks great. Glad I don't print much in ASA.

Even tho I've got 3D printed Aldi coin on my keychain, I still like to have place to store easily accessable quarters:thumbsup:. Printing another for the smaller blank insert at time of writing, will report. I'm liking the smaller coin holder better!

    She made it boys.

Unfortunately I didn't get it all set up until after my 11mo old daughter went to bed and her room is right above my office so first print will have to wait until tomorrow night!

I got orange, green, and PLA/PETG support material as my "free" sample spools. Interested to see how well the support material works. Then have about 8 other BBL lab spools plus probably half a dozen from my old printer ready to go, mostly PETG and PLA but a little TPU, too. I figure once I get a feel for the printer and work out any kinks (looking at you chamber fan causing lifting on some materials) I'll switch to the hardened nozzle and give some of the more exotic filaments a try. I have a few different motorcycle parts I want to get going on in a reinforced material.

You're in for some fun man!

Also when using the support material remember to set it to only use it on the interface layer so you don't waste it making towers/trees of support material.

I've been sanding away furiously, with my normal steps for ABS, brush on a thick-ish coating of some ABS supports mixed with acetone, then 100 grit > spray filler/primer > 180 grit > another round of filler/primer > 400 grit > silver paint for chipping > masking or chipping fluid > final paint.

So far I've applied the ABS slurry to about 50% of the parts then initial sanding with 100 grit:

    IMG_20250130_153144013.jpg

I also purchased the needed 303 3/8" stainless steel rods for the elbow actuators and 1.6mm stainless steel tubing for the antenna set:

    IMG_20250126_004457630.jpg

I did end up having to take a break from sanding and filling, as I have begun to sort out the electronics that will make him "Roger Roger!":

    IMG_20250130_153207268.jpg

Once I get the electronics sorted, I'll return to sanding and filling, as it creates a hefty amount of dust.

They glow in the dark / black lights and have carmex inside them. Using them as trades for a multi day cyberpunk rave in the desert that only allows bartering

Not printed but finally setup the desk I ordered to house the 3D printer, I had it next to my PC tower on an old table but with the square table and no supports it would shake pretty good while printing, so now this sits on the opposite side of the office, all 3D printing items will go on/under the desk. Got all the filaments organized and got most of the accessories on the desk, just gotta find my spare nozzles to put with it.

Made a holder for my laptop charger that has embedded magnets so I can quickly slap it onto the legs of my desk at work. Used TPU so that the charger was gripped by the material, but I could easily pop it out of the holder. Came out nice, only needed one first trial part to learn and tweak from, and the second one is the final part I've been using.

Picked up a humidity cabinet for filament and an extra AMS. Couldn't leave the cabinet/AMS empty, so had to fill them with filament and extra hotends, hardened extruder gears and a bunch of spare parts...

Y'know, I was on the fence about the AMS when I put in my order. I didn't think I'd do much multicolor printing (still don't think I'll do much of it, honestly) but MAN is it convenient to just leave a few colors in there and just hit the button to switch between when you're doing different prints. I get why people get more of them.

Is that dessicant pods i see sitting next to the second AMS? Which ones did you print? I have a quart of dry and dry waiting to go. I pulled a spool of old filament out (honestly probably 3 years old) and tossed it in my dryer in anticipation of using it on a big print, and it was 15% off the bat. My house is dry as hell right now.

Today I printed out some 4 post lifts for my lego speed champion sets (i need to print another 3 or 4 of them..) and am currently printing the first 20 or so layers of a mandalorian helmet so I can see if it'll go over my giant noggin or not.

I printed these units since they have a spot for a hydrometer...
