Thanks! That was my assessment when finished as well - lol

As to the filament, the B1 is printed in all gray and black Creality ABS. With the higher nozzle temps and possible ABS fumes it was a bit a of chore.

I didn't keep too close of tabs on how much I used, but honestly I only had a couple of minor flub prints on his thighs, so including the blaster, all of its parts, the backpack + the long range binoculars, I'd say probably in the 10 to 15 rolls of filament range.

Also forgot......one of the coolest things about the B1 is I've got a set of electronics and a small speaker that mount in his back, along with a small infrared sensor in his chest that will activate one of a 105 or so B1 voice sounds!
There are about 5 different "Roger Roger"s in the lineup.
It's hilarious when you pass in front of him and forget to turn him off.........
The first time I walked by and forgot I had his voice module active, I walked by and immediately was treated with a "Uh uh, no you don't" in his high piched synthesized voice. Caught me off guard!

Anyone ever gotten shock oil on TPU? it looks like it shouldn't be an issue, but i can't find anywhere that will tell me for sure. shock oil is essentially just 5 weight aviation hydraulic fluid for what it's worth.

So I printed some sunglasses clips for the truck out of PET-CF. While they haven't "deformed" in the heat, they have lost their clamping ability and wont spring back to normal and keep falling off the visors. Is ABS a better option for these?

I am thinking of printing a different design that attaches to my overhead molle that will have a tab that locks them closed, so maintaining that clamping ability won't be an issue, but if ABS is a better option I'll go that route.

ASA is probably the best choice for that, ABS be decent too. PETG and PET-CF are good with temperatures but can relax a bit.

A former coworker reached out to me, to see if I could make something she saw for her dad. Once she explained what it was, I did a quick search to see if I could find the STL files out in the wild, It took about 5 minutes to find what she had described.

An insert for a slim packout case that holds 450 rounds of 9mm. I printed it up in ABS on my Q1 pro, I like how it turned out so much that I will be printing a couple for myself.

Slowly refining my hidden/micro switch garage door opener. Currently printing in PETG but plan on switching to ASA-GF for final prints. Anyone use heat inserts with reinforced ASA? I assume it'd work like any other material for it, right?

Picked up some ABS and ASA to print some things for the truck. I have one of those pop-up Zipper Creality enclosures and was thinking of using one of those USB powered computer case fans and a 3in dryer vent run to the window. The side of the enclosure has a velcro door that I can run everything from. Think that'll be sufficient for ventilation?

wouldn't that be the opposite of what you want with the encloser? its supposed to keep the temperature stable, but the fan would cool things down? i dont use a fan with my pop up thing.

While you are correct that the reason for an enclosure is to keep heat in, certain filaments - ABS in particular, ASA to a smaller extent - need to be ventilated due to the fumes they put off. Many enclosures have provisions for ventilation.

FWIW I use a tent on ABS and it's okay. A touch of warping but it does print pretty well for a bed slinger. The room that the printer is in has an vent fan outside of the tenting.

I've done some parts off of a resin printer with ABS like resin and have successfully Cerakoted them with H series Cerakote. Might be an option for you. The details off a resin printer are amazing.PXL_20250817_004325154.MP~2.jpg

One evening, a YouTube video popped into my feed on a new CVT (apparently just patented). That video led to another from a guy that had modeled and printed a 3d model. This intrigued the hell out of me, and my first print finished earlier today:

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
Please post a link to the videos! I have no use whatsoever for Poke-mon dust catching figurines - but a working model of a new CVT with helical planetary gears scratches an itch in a very deep part of my brain. I don't mind that kind of dust catcher.

Apparently it was patented just last year and Yamaha is already licensing the technology to adapt into their mopeds.
