do you guys get that crunchy plastic noise whenever you hit some rough road, or take it off road? it seems like my whole cab is made of plastic. (i guess it is no?)

Just tried to do my speakers in the rear and realized I need speaker mounts. WTF that's pretty stupid to me that you can't reuse the harness already in the truck.

For the money you pay for a Tacoma, you should at least get heated mirrors and a descent rear suspension.

I don't hate anything about my truck. My wife drives an Acura MDX, if I wanted luxury I'd of bought one of those. I'm old enough to remember cars that didn't have stereo's or cup holders. I bought a truck and that's exactly what I got. There are some things that I would change if I lived in a perfect world but nothing I hate. I had a sun roof in my Highlander and I never used it, I liked the leather seats but I can live without them. I have driven dozens of cars over the years and they all have quirks and things I don't like. My wifes Acura was $50,000 and it's far from perfect. I like my truck, it does what I need it to do. I'd buy it again tomorrow if I was in the market for a vehicle.

Hey if you remember cars without stereo's or cup holders then how can you be a junior member? Or are you a senior member with junior status...LOL....remember when there wasn't FM either and just AM and you lost all signals when you drove under a bridge...LMAO....Now I couldn't survive without my XM in my truck or cars.....

Steering wheel is set up to require too much input for a given amount of wheel travel. (I hate this the MOST about this truck).
Brakes require too much pedal force. (I hate this second most... need a more sensitive brake pedal)
OffRoad 4 wheeling switches/traction control/ATRAC are strewn all around the cabin in a hap hazzard fashion (left side of dash, right side of dash, center console)
Steering wheel too thin aand hard.
    No locking gas tank door.
No place to put the gas cap on door.
No supercharger option from factory. (easily add to car payment, adds to resale value, and no install payment for consumer)
No seat height adjustment. (manual pump sytle like Jeep has would be fine)
No lighted vanity mirrors. (GF hates this)
    Cheap interior plastics.
No charcoal interior color option. (Light grey is barely acceptable)
No leather option. (I paid $30K for a truck with cloth interior)
    No auto up on windows.
No auto down on passenger window.
No 4.10 gear option from factory for V6.
    No bedlight.
    Cheap, flimsy tailgate.
No 12V outlet or 3.5mm or Ipod connection in center console. (everyone has this nowdays)
No auto headlamps or auto A/C option. (I prefer not think about those things, just set em once and forget about em)
    No tailgate lock.
    No hood struts.
Wheel well openings/cab mount/etc not lift and big tire friendly.
    No rear disk brake option.

There are so many things that are missing from my truck that should be standard like power windows but I realize that the options do exist, you just have to pay a pretty penny for it.
1 bench seat: I've sat on park benchess that were more comfortable than it. It will not recline, it is not split and the back only gives in one inch at max. It has flat, non-curved back and the fabric design is hideous.

2 window cranks: not only are they too small to put out any leverage, they always feel like they need a whole can of wd-40. I can use my pinky to turn my gf's cranks on her car, but I have to put my back into it on my truck. Also, my knuckles rub on the bottom of the dash when cranking. The crank needs to be moved back

3 radio: my '04 came with a cassette player. Seriously? It has the "Compact Disc" logo on it but the the two inch plastic panel above it is empty

4 engine bay: no light and no gas struts

5 glove box light: apparently this was an added option that I didn't get.

6 recommended Jack point on the frame: the designated point to Jack the front end of the truck is right at the doors. That makes lifting it (even with a hydrolic jack a pain)

7 inner door handles: they are simply too small. If they were 1.5 to 2 times bigger, that would be perfect

I haven't read this whole thread, but some things I dislike are:
The weak stereo, needs to be a lot LOUDER!!
No heated side mirrors, can't see shit out the sides in the morning! (seriously, is there a mod for this???)
    The constant accessory craving. :D
And no charcoal interior. I got the Weather Tech floor liner and this isn't really a problem anymore though! :)

    Other than that, lovin' it.

Most of my comments on options deletes are available with a Frontier. So no, it does not need to be a Lexus to have the same options as a Frontier, its main rival.

As for the heated mirrors, I've been reading that the Sienna power/heated mirrors are a direct replacement for the Tacoma side mirrors. They can be found cheap too, around $120 for the pair. All that would be needed to be worked out is the few additional wires and a switch, which was pointed out in another thread mentioned in a comment above (thanks, btw).

I thought of some more :D

I don't like how you can't turn the temp all the way down without the AC coming on. I just like the natural cool air most of the time, but have to stop before the AC comes on....lame.

And today I discovered that there is no keyhole on the passenger side door  I usually use the remote, but today I happened to not have it on me, and was going to put something in the glove box, only to discover I had to walk around to the driver's door to use my key. What kind of money saving crap is that for Toyota?

And finally, I don't like how there isn't a magic force field around the truck. I haven't even made my first payment yet, and already a tree has fallen on it, a shopping cart has bumped it, and a rock has chipped the windshield. waddafug Toyota?? I blame you and your sticky gas pedals for this!! ;)
