May be true, but he's still got a point. I put the tailgate down to load my kayaks and lose the camera in the process.

This so far is the first thing I agree with the rest is just like any other truck. The glass is good size the damn plastic inside covers half the windows and I do miss the opening ones too.

Well not really you get to see your tag. Now the tail gates down you can see out the back.

I do get to see my tag...that's true. And I can avoid running over any ants on the ground. But I can't see much else out the back because the kayaks are sitting on the bed extender though.

Just bought two Thermos stainless hydrater drink holders for the wife and I to use and found out the passenger side drink holder is in front of the 12volt power outlets. You have to choose which one you want to use outlet or cup holder.

Yeah...you'd think they would have tested it sometime in the last 6-7 years of this model.

I've only had it a week and it's base so it's missing a bunch of stuff I'm used to. But I LIKE that. Less things to break! Don't like the stuff I have to take it back to dealer under TCUV warranty but hey it's warrantied so that's not too bad either. But it made me join this forum and YOU PEOPLE are causing me to have a huge bookmarked list of mods I want to do now. In a week! WTFTW?? I don't have any money I just bought a Taco! :D:D:D

    No significant mods....yet
Just a couple things so far but nothing major. Here's a few additions for Yota to consider:

    1) Elevation capability on the driver seat; feels like the floorboard sits too high up to the base of the seat

    2) Rear glass and side mirror defrosters; not essential but helps

    3) Locking tailgate (don't know why Yota hasn't figured this out yet)

    4) A little more horses and torque to add to the powertrain and I'm good to go :D

    Won't repeat the obvious ones

-that nobody from Toyota will bother reading this or anything similar on any other website
-I would have paid another $1k for all these minor things to be included. Maybe toyota can make a package titled: "actual useful shit"
    - a manual that is just for my specific truck and not every tacoma model.
-intermittent wipers need a slower speed setting.

Doubt that brand name would sell too well in America...translated to Japanese it would be:

    Jissai no benrina tawagoto

Whaddya think...the Tawagoto package? The JNBT edition?

2024 TRD Offroad double cab 6MT
I've read through all the dislikes... I'm confused. I gather it's a mixed bag of 2/4wd in here and all years/gens of tacoma. I picked up a 2015 CC SB TRD offroad on Saturday. Couldn't be much happier. Yeah, I miss heated seats/mirrors and an auto up on the drivers side window would be good. I prefer a handle to shift into four-wheel-drive of course…. Outside of that – the engine runs super quietly (no ticking) The cab is very quiet, the power feels great, The build quality seems incredible – I've never had a vehicle that sounded so solid when you slam the doors… It feels like this thing is built like the proverbial brick shitter. Temperatures here have been hovering in the teens during the day and down to zero at night with a little bit of snow – so I've been in and out of four-wheel-drive – that said, my first tank returned about 17mpg. I've always lusted after a Tacoma crew cab… My dad had a 2000 4runner that did 150k trouble free miles (towing a bass boat a lot of the time) and now has 100k on a 2005 V8 4Runner with zero issues. In fact, we just replaced the brake pads at 100K – factory pads… And there was still some life left in them! I'm trying to find the faults in this truck but I'm just not coming up with that many… It seems like everyone here loves their truck, but there are quite a few complaints. Is the 2015 an improved machine?? Does my family just get lucky with black toyotas??
