TRD Off Road. I wanted the locker and the seats. The TRD seats are one of the biggest things I love about my truck. Sport didn't work for me because it had the LSD, and an X Runner just wouldn't handle the places I sometimes gotta go.

I really wish my truck had a hood scoop though. If I ever get reason to replace the hood I'm sure that'll change.

Yes it is! I like it but I'm going to mount my hi lights behind my grill and it will be kinda useless if I get a plate bumper...

I am a Leatherman pocket knife type guy and like it when my gadgets come with all the options, because you never know what tool you might need in the future, so I could not get anything else than the Offroad 4wd. I love the handling and the tougher ride of the Offroad even when cursing down the freeway with the family on board. I like to go off the beaten path or up to the snow from time to time so the Offroad options will get used. The TRD bucket seats were a huge factor in why I did not even think about the SR5. Auto trans was important because the old 1999 Tacoma 4x4 stick shift was bothering my left knee after driving it for 12 years. The factory installed tow package was important because we tow a tent trailer or boat from time to time. Also when I test drove the Sport I could not stand that scoop thing, it just looked wrong to me.

Sport double cab short bed. It was love at first sight. I drove 80 miles to get a hemi ram, salesman pissed me off, so after an exchange of words, we left. I stopped to look at my taco at a toyota dealership a mile from my house on the way back. The 6 speed won me over, I wasn't thrilled that the rams were automatic only, and kindof street oriented with the 20" wheels. I even payed as much for my 06 "toyota certified" taco with 56k on it as the other dealership wanted for an 07 ram with 27k on it.

All the rams at the other place were really beat up but had low miles. The interiors were pretty rough on a few of them and the salesman didn't appreciate me calling him out on the crappy detail jobs. The same rams with more miles were selling for 5k+ in my area then what they were asking. My spidey sense may have saved me from a lemon that day. So I jumped on the tacoma the first time I saw it, and it has done everything I've asked it to, including pulling a tree stump up, pulling a fence up, and clawing its way through some precarious mud and snow situations, hood scoop and all.

I love the taco, but I really want a cummins ram. But I'll never be able to justify a $650-800 payment for a tow rig that would never see half of it's capacity. If I could've gotten the hilux's diesel in my truck, all would be right in the world. Oh and the frame rust thing.

Had an 06 sport. loved the color matching and the scoop. Totalled that.. now have an 09 off road. Was wanting another sport, but I got a deal and immediately ditched the chrome. Honesty, i can say I LOVE the off road cuz of the locker. Both were 4x's but Damn its a tank. Miss my scoop tho... :(
