Base and Sr5 should be seperate choices, there are a lot of us without Sr5 :).
I have Base, no Sr5, but a double cab comes standard with power windows, locks and mirrors. I don't like the slider and don't need the wipers, etc. Fogs can be added for about $200. :)

Nope, Sr5 is basically upgraded interior features to put it simple. Its a package that can be on any model including 5 lugs. You might/might not have it, depends what extra features you have, check then re-call your insurance if you don't cause they would be charging you for a more expensive truck. I had this corrected with my insurance when I first got it.

True, DC comes standard with power and ac. That was enough for me too .

I got no trd or sr5 simply because I didn't need any of it and would be making changes myself, so that saved me $$ and I love my truck.

    I like my black bumpers/grill/fenders :D.
I know some 1st gens had the black ones also, but I hardly ever use to see any 2nd gens with it, I was wondering if they changed to black on the base models after a certain year (maybe 07)?

    Hey Ya'll,

I am under the impression that Base and SR5 are not the same, and should not have been lumped together. Base Trucks have black fender flares & bumpers SR5 trucks have color matched flares & Front bumpers with Chrome rear bumpers. Base trucks have the minimum extras.

SR5's have many extra features over base models. My Double Cab SR5 has JBL stereo, Body colored Fender flares, Intermintent wipers, cruise control, power windows & door locks, sliding rear window, chrome rear bumper & grill surround, and fog lights.

    I have a 2008 4X4 DC , 6 speed manual, TRD Sport/ towing package.
In Canada we are limited in models. IF you get the 6 speed DC it must be short box, and if you get Auto DC its long box??.
I wish we could get some of your options.
I got the top of the line last year, and the US trucks have more air bags Trac control.
The 09 in Canada are alot better, with the top model getting Leather; back up camera; MP3/ Ipod thingy and its 3000$ less then the 08 models, my wife was right, I should of waited till my 14 year old trecel died.

I have a base model. 4 cyl., no power windows or locks, no CC, no intermittant wipers, and no power mirrors. Since I bought the truck I've been working on adding all of those feature. And dammit, I will!!!!!! Along with DRL and fog lights..... all in good time, of course.

I went with SR5 4x4 because I knew I wanted to change out the suspension my self but with the TSB, they changed it to all TRD suspesion anyway. I guess I got my moneys worth!
