Since the early 90s we have bought Toyotas, Celicas, Corollas, Tacomas, Rav4 all came with CD players, one even came with a cassette player built in. My 3rd gen. Tacoma TRD Sport came with the intune which comes with GPS, Blue tooth, and CD player all as part of the package.
Out last Rav4 LE a 2016, came with a CD as part of the Pkg. My lease is up on this vehicle, so yesterday I took my wife to my local Dlr. to let her pick out a new one. She picks out a 2019
Rav4 XLE, with 6 way power drivers seat and sun roof. She sits down in the drivers seat, and sayes where is the CD player, (she only has about 150 of them) The salesman explained that this $31000+
is not available with CD or GPS and that Toyota is "moving away from this"
This ultimate" Mall Crawler /grocery getter" .........You have got to be kidding.....This would be the fifth new Toyota, and second new Rav4. for her, it is what she wants, wanted. She jumped out and said she didn't want it. WTF Toyota what do I do now ?

The compact disk is going / has gone away. I'm sure the Rav4 is available with Nav in the right package. $

I have hundreds of CD’s. Haven’t used one in 3 of my last vehicles. I don’t think I’ve ever even noticed the CD player. Have they figured out a way to keep them from skipping 100%?

It's not just Toyota man, in fact they are a little late to the no CD player game.

CD players are on the way out in almost all new cars. You can get all those CDs put onto a single flash drive to keep installed in the vehicle or stream via bluetooth. GPS nav is an option depending on trim level, as is Apple Car play if you use Iphones.

Makes sense to me... with gen5 wireless coming soon, future vehicles will only need an ability to connect to the internet for all other legacy functions (music, nav, weather, etc.)... the future is here

Take any money you might spend on a CD player and get a Spotify account. Cheaper than buying CDs, no scratched discs or need to store anything. You will find all your old music there, and even better, might discover some new stuff.

I was a CD devotee until the end but good riddance. I’m glad music does not require all the garbage plastic to be enjoyed.

download a program that will rip the CD's into mp3 files. Spent a weekend with a lot of booze in hand, rip them all, and load onto a flash drive. boom, happy wife ;)

if wanting to go above and beyond, organize the files into playlists or separate folders by CD.

LOL, that's exactly what my wife said when we got her a new Honda Pilot and it's a 2016. Now she loves having all her music on an iPod.

This is what I did, and I have a CD player. This USB drive is so small, I leave it plugged in and don't even notice it's there.

Good luck finding a new car with a CD player. I had to 'splain that to the wife as well.

Time to embrace the newer technology or keep the 2016 model.

I put in a few old CDs into my taco and they sounded horrible. Downstreaming or running off the usb stick has better playback.
