For Christmas one year, my daughter put all of my CDs on an Apple Ipod (using the family computer). You can do the same with an iPhone or Android. Much more convenient than CDs. Then you just plug it into the data port or use bluetooth. Your wife will find this solution allows her to bring all 150 of her CDs with her whenever she drives in her new RAV4. As for navigation, most folks rely on the navigation on their phones, so car makers are moving away from providing it on most trim levels.

OK I get it, I guess I have been living under a rock, This is all new to me, keep in mind I am 67 and the wife is older than that, so where, or how do I learn about this Technology, who teaches it,
where do i get it, and remember somehow Its going to have to be easy to learn and use by my 68 year old wife she is a grate grandmother. Can your Granny convert all her CDs to USB and index and access them. you got to remember who you are dealing with.

You don’t have to do any of that just because tech has evolved. You could just keep doing CDs. If you have an iPhone you could get iTunes and connect right off your phone.

Since she is a great grandmother, have her ask her children, grandchildren or great grand children for help. My grandma just got an iPhone (has absolutely no modern technology other than this, seriously. No wifi, computer etc). She can learn. I'd recommend a grandkid and have her buy lunch. Your grandkid could get her setup in a few hours.

I understand your frustration. Older people who do not adapt well to technology have a harder time with this. I have family that do not comprehend technology - this is a real issue, not just "sit down and learn it" for some people. Some people are absolutely unable to function with computer technology that the younger generations have grown up with. Yes, if you can get some family to help you out, go for it, but don't feel kicked just because of this. And for those older people who have never owned a smartphone, tablet, or even a computer, it will never be learned simply because they never had to. Younger generations have had to learn technology, whether they wanted to or not.
Since you are on a forum, you obviously have some tech skills, so it shouldn't take too much for you guys to be able to pick up on the new music technology in a car. And your grandkids should have a blast showing you how to do stuff (they'll feel important that they taught you something!).
    Good luck learning!
