S= Sport R= engine family (22RE, 2RZ, 3RZ,etc...) 5= 5-speed transmission... I have heard that for sake of tradition and corny rebranding nonsense (which i totally agree with) they left it "5" even if it happens to be a six speed (like Mine) I think The "5" is cool for traditions sake. Have a Merry Christmas Briinh

2 out of three aren't bad Chris :) I heard it both ways i never received the confirmation on the original. thx for the clear up! I just did the secondary airfilter removal, and compass/temp gauge re-solder on my '06 4.0L 6-Spd. compass works awesome, and a consideral amount of throttle response with 2nd AF removed. Great Site thx for everyones help.
hope everyone has A Merry Christmas... Or Other Festive Holiday action respectively

I had a '79 and it was a very big deal to have the 5 speed and two buckets. Toyota used a Car and Driver quotation in their advertising for that year that it was, "the BMW of small trucks." I ran it into the ground.

Hope my 2009 gives me as good service as that old one did. I wimped out and got the automatic this time. Being an old fart takes its toll on people.
