As in Sport doesn't have all the ABS Traction control features an OR has.

    Yep. just less variations

I think drum brakes add to enjoyable tunes.

The same noise every other vehicle I’ve had over the last 20 years when it kicks in. Is normal.

Might I suggest reading this sticky post. It will explain everything about the Traction control system and what it does and how switches affect it.

going in 4 wheel takes away from the donuts and side slides. Yes you can turn off some of the nanny controls while moving.

I think it is more responsive than the 2nd gen. You can almost shut it down when stopped by holding the button down for a few seconds, but it is not truly off.

Seriously though..I have a 3rd gen trdor, and this is the loudest traction control system ever.
Always sounds like it is going to break.

mine isn't that loud. but i think the offroads with crawl control have a different traction control system than the SR. even on the SR, the traction control is incredibly good. never even been close to getting stuck.

I'm surprised by what sounds like a bunch of relays clicking on top of the ABS/TC sound.

Not sure if it makes a difference or not, but the TRDOR has an electronic brake booster. I believe Sport and below do not.

I’ve owned a 2016 SR5 and a 2020 OR. The ABS system on the OR is indeed much louder. It has a hydraulic pump instead of a vacuum brake booster as part of the off-road traction control system (ATRAC/MTS/CC). I suspect the reason for the hydraulic pump is that it doesn’t run out of juice after a period of operation like a vacuum system does, but that is not an expert opinion.

It needs that stamina for crawl modes :burnrubber:which sounds like the roller coaster pawl without the satisfying free fall and screams..
