I,m still annoyed with the cheap sounding radio they put in my truck. After my warranty is up I will probably have to put in a better one with decent speakers

You have to hear the POS that came in my wifes 4Runner/Urban Runner. The one in our Tacomas sounds high end compared to that POS.

I have transported my DRZ400SM a couple times just using the cleats. Was scary at first but they have held the bike pretty solid so now I am a little less worried when I need to do it. I put two cleats on each front corner so all four are up front. So two are on the front of the bed and the other two are on the side track but maxed out to the front wall. I than try to distribute the weight with the tie-downs on each side to the two cleats. So far no problems doing it that way. The rear than gets tie-downed to the D-Rings on the floor. If I transported the bike more often I would put D-Rings in the floor up front but for now the cleats are working.

The only thing I don't like about the Tacoma would have to be the rattles. I only have 1100 miles on it, but the rattles are starting to appear from somewhere in, on, around or behind the dash. There are plenty of threads about it, so I'll have to try some user remedies soon...didn't think they'd crop up so early in the trucks life. I can't think of anything else I don't like about it.

No rear defogger is annoying to me. Not sure if this is an option on other models

I have a 2007 Porsche Carrera with a $1600 Bose radio option. The radio in the Tacoma sounds better, so I can't complain.

Love my tacoma. Just wish they could make a truck that DOES NOT RUST. How come GM and Ford can do this but Toyota can't?

Not crazy about no 4x4 light switch.
Thule sport racks don't go all the way down due to bedliner.
Day lights should be always on.
should have an outside temp gauge as a standard feature.

The only thing I do not like is that it is NOT made in Japan. Better QA.

    2010 SR5 Access 4x4
Debadged tailgate - Limo tinted windows - Sockmonkey bed decals - Fully custom upgraded stereo 9 speakers w/custom built subwoofer box 1200 watts total power - swapped white and blue LED gauges - integrated backup camera - removed front mud flaps - All interior lights swapped with LEDS
Love the truck but a few things really annoy me. some more than others. I have a 2010 Access 4x4

*The gauges where a wretched orange color/ I Already changed that to white/blue:) way way better!

*Stereo is a JOKE. And the speakers in the headliner that are supposed to serve as rear speakers?? I don't know what the hell they where thinking there. So yeah no speakers in the rear doors and the horrible sound quality and lack of volume disappointed me.

*no illumination on the 4x4 switch

*No locking gas door or cap

*Not enough D rings in bed

*When you turn the climate control dial all the way to the coldest setting it automatically turns on the AC. Why? Have never had any vehicle that has done that.

*Don't really like the way the rear part of the access cab is designed. Wish the seats easily came out and left you with a flatter area.

*The armrests, door handles, and center console armrests get dirty really easily and are a pain to clean.

*heated mirrors and outside temp would be nice

I don't like the dash/radio...it's too swoopy and cheesy looking. Keep it simple and basic like the 1st gens.

    Aren't the hood scopes fake?

Where the heck is a diesel or V8 option???

    It's not a 1st Gen.

Seriously...whatever happened to that fantastic compact truck that defined the market for personal pickups with terrific off-road capability?

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
Toyota figured out we aged and have bigger families so they gave us full size double cabs with long bad for camping :D
Although I am missing my 1 gen truck my family is not. They like sleeping on the back of the truck with tailgate open for ocean or river views. :)

Well I haven't read the entire thread so I don't know if has been covered yet, but I really have only one dislike...

I wish my Taco had dual climate control. Holy crap do I miss that. Its either too hot or too cold when the misses is with me.

All others can be added, modded, removed, etc...
