I wonder if precooked shredded hash browns added to the mix would work good? Might just be a big cakey mess.

If you can keep things cold, a couple rotisserie chickens do good on a camping trip. Shred or tear off what you want, wrap in foil, heat over fire. Or eat cold. Also those bagged salads with dressing and whatever in the bag... open up all the little packets of dressings, croutons, whatever is in there, dump them in the bag, fold the opening over and grab so it's closed, and shake shake shake. Eat right out of the bag.

    salmon
    roasted chicken
    corn on the cob

I usally bring a grill top and some bricks to station over the fire so

    Burgers

    Peanut butter tacos.
(soft shell and exactily what it sounds like. Quick, easy, carbs and protein)

    Corn cooked in tin foil

    Potatos cooked with foil

Bacon (eather on the grill top or pan with camp stove)

    Clifbars, beers, whisky and rum

And trashbags cause screw people that leave trash everywhere, I wouldn't recomend eating those tho then we leave the grill over a fire a bit then let it cool and trashbag it to help take away smell and put everything in the cab or in bear bags in a tree

This is a great thread! So many different easy things to make. I'm going camping a few times this year and might be stealing some of these ideas!

Does anyone use a dutch oven? I dont have one but am wondering if its worth getting.

I also read somewhere on here where someone put the crockpot in a plastic milk crate to protect it and keep it from tipping over.

Along those same lines, I'd like to try using this for similar meals:

I've used the bed outlet to run a crockpot multiple times. I've never tried to cook anything in it on high while driving but I use it on low to keep things warm. I imagine it would work though.

+1 on the milk crate, it works really well

I posted on the first or second page about how me and my girlfriend dehydrate a ton of veggies over the winter for our summer backpacking trips. Thought I would share these pictures of us getting more meals ready.IMG-20170801-WA0005.jpgour kitchen a complete mess sorting a packageing meals up. With my girlfriend front and center enjoying it all. IMG-20170801-WA0007.jpga better shot of the 3 toats of food, stored in ziplock freezer bags waiting to be vaccum sealed into a delicious meal.

First 2 person meal done, quinoa broccoli, and mushrooms. When rehydrated and chicken stock is added along with some sauce it's delicious!
