On my second tank now and experimenting with what gas the truck likes best. I too have been struck with a slight ticking noise from what appears to be the HPFP. Not a huge deal to me really as I never idle the truck and get out to be annoyed enough by it. And also don't go near drive thrus to also be annoyed by it there. With that said, I just recently put in BP 87 octane and it seems to like it a little more than whatever Toyota put in the first tank.

Thinking Shell V power is next at bat.

I wasn't as concerned about octane as I have read thru most of those already. Just curious what top tier brands everyone is running and which they prefer.

You made a wise choice getting the manual. Any gas will be fine.

I run 89 from shell. Mostly because its convenient and i like the station. 89 for extra insurance in the event i get some from a bad tank. If stations stopped selling E10 I'd get 87.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
87 & 90 ethanol free, depending on station. Have 3 stations within 2 miles of the house with it. Wawa, marathon, and race trac. I also get 2-3mpg better.

87 from esso, because Toyota Canada gave me a gas card for them. Petro Canada 87 otherwise, cuz it's right next to my house. Chevron if I go to the states
