    I agree .

It's like arguing about paint colour .

I think the chrome (fake as it may be) on the stock TRD is fine. I happen to like the shiney bumber. Same on the grill. Now, stick on vents and sstuff like that is just tacky. Door handles and mirrors, no way. I would not want any more chrome on the truck, but I like the way that it is.
I am not a fan of chrome wheels though. I kinda like the Off-road rims. Just my thoughts.

I live in San Jose and completely understand what you're referring to. Have no interesting in throwing chrome all the way around though. My back bumper is chrome and I have no plans on changing it out for a painted one. Some 'real' chrome wheels would pop on my ride but I guess it really comes down to personal preference, which is all that I was looking for.

Heated topic though - thanks for the thread :)

I think some chrome is ok. Chrome wheels look good on certain trucks while black looks good on others. I think it depends on the color of truck and the accessories the owner installs. I changed out my chrome to colormatched, but the chrome on the stock Tacoma looks fine as is.:D

My previous 99 Tacoma had chrome wheels that lasted the decade I owned them.

I for one take pleasure in spending part of an afternoon sitting outside on a nice day shining my truck up and enjoying looking at the shine that comes off my truck when I put a little time and hard work into it.

You people are getting so lazy :D

Chrome is good in moderations or on a nice set of wheels

We are in a new phase and chrome doesn't look good on our trucks --- most of us are trying to get away from the 20"+ chrome wheel thing aswell

    The better coast
x2 its along the same lines of the people who have a dinky truck and the first mod they do to it is put a massive bumper on it...it kind of just looks out of place, chrome has to go with the style of the truck as well.

I have chromed out many vehicals over the last 20 yrs. from the engines to wheels to polished SS rear bumpers to be shiney....:) I wanted to do something different this time and go with something blacked out. I dont have a problem with chrome at all but I do not like the ways that the fad of todays lifted trucks with the big "bling" wheels with low profile mud tires...LOL. It is not for me at all. Maybe I am just getting old :)

washing your truck shouldnt be considered maintenance. it should be a given that you clean it. Do you shower often? should be the same idea

I can think of at least 3 people off the top of my head that I'm pretty sure don't shower consistently.

It's all about moderation. Less is more and it's really hard for a lot of people to grasp that.
    Chrome looks good
    Black looks good
But either can be ruined by over use.

And in the battle of Fifi VS Humongus.... Master Blaster
