What happened to global warming?

That is certainly not the case in the Arctic

 

I probably get up there as often as the other poster gets to the Antarctic

 

Have any of you guys seen those videos on chemtrails?

Also just like war, there is alot of money to be maid off of global warming.

 

Of the fact that the Arctic Sea ice has been disappearing faster each year for the last couple decades ?

 

Uh , no , I meant the sattelite images where they track our Arctic ice coverage

 

... ok, ... didn't say it was in the arctic, ..but the cumulative effect could be a net zero ... which is why these alarmists are scurrying around to figure out why behind every other door there is an antithesis to their religion..

, ..i.e. my premise is that the earth is in continual change, and due to factors that are little understood and much more impactful than us driving around in our SUVs, ..

..you see the alarmists are getting a bit irritated, kinda like a little kid trying to squash a balloon - if you squash one end, the other end expands

I didn't say that YOU said the Arctic .

Depending on how far you go back , the Antarctic was covered in trees , plants , etc .

So offering up a fact like " Antarctic ice is increasing " is really relative to the starting point of the observation

 

here's the thing, ...we are (currently) only able to observe things in a very minute "window of time", that is, in relation to earth weather/climate over it's history, ... now, from a statistical perspective, this means that we in no way have any statistical "relevance" to current "trends", ..because we don't know if we are just witnessing cycles that have occurred for a long time before we had the technology to observe it..

..remember earth observation satellites have only been around for a couple decades, ...and as the data production from them increases, and the resolution (spectral, temporal, geospatial) gets better - voila we see things we couldn't see before... ...kinda like the 24 hour news cycle - ..it tends to make it seem like everything around us is getting worse, ..but probably because the pervasiveness and amount of new coverage has increased due to technology..

 

Isn't the ice on top of the ocean? and if the ocean IS rising doesn't that mean ice is melting?

Thr Arctic has been , as far back as man has explored it , including the Inuit peoples , covered in ice including into the summer .

We as modern humans have observed since the 70's that the Arctic ice recedes further and earlier every year .

I am not saying for certain it is due to man made causes or not , but it is without a doubt happening .

i'm sure there is.... i've heard that "they" are claiming the arctic ice is decreasing, ..but - i.e. read some of my other posts about our ability to observe the earth (geospatial, temporal, spectral) - ..as our capabilities increase we see things we couldn't see (ever) in the past, ... but the temporal window for this capability is a miniscule epoch in time, compared to the history of the earth, ... i.e. we have no way of knowing if the things we observe today are nothing more than cycles that have been going on for ages..
