In the first video, it looks like the drivers hip would be crushed when it smashes the center console. OUCH!

I'm actually impressed with the side impact one. Except for the center console, everything seeemed to work quite well.

i was unfortunately involved in a fender bender a few years ago when I was trying to switch lanes in traffic. I looked behind me to make sure there was no one there and started going forward but since I didn't look forward before I started rolling I didn't see the subaru stopped short in front of me. Rear ended it at about 5-10 mph... Literally got a tiny dent in my bumper and it took off the entire rear bumper of the subaru lol... paid it all out of pocket but I was impressed with the minimal damage...

at least they did the second test with the best color taco lol

It would be an emotional roller coaster for me... I'd be thrilled to watch Kia's/Hyundai's get smashed but sad when cars I like (re: Tacomas/Audis) get smashed. Though I'd be proud if/when said cars do well :D

Body-on-frame construction certainly has advantages in a frontal crash. The frame takes most of the crash energy, while the cab "floats" on top.
