I haven't made any large purchases but I did pick up 3 20round boxes of .223 Tul Ammo for 6$ a box today at the LGS and I bought some 3 inch Remington Magnum 12 gauge buckshot from walmart the day before...slowly building up my reserve ammo supply...

I hope to get some .22LR soon

He must live under a rock, with no TV or radio. You could not find it that cheap before the last crazy price increase.

Can make that decision. Do your research, go to gunshops and ranges, try and fire the handguns YOU feel comfortable with. You will know which one is the right one for you.

The more time you spend at the range, the better you will be with whatever you select.

As to caliber, "someone" once said one hit with a .22 is better than 13 misses with a 9mm................
