Frigging birdshot is no where. All I find is defensive shells.

The last time I reloaded 380 I did a batch of 2000. My buddies thought I was an idiot.... I sold about 350 rds of factory 380 ammo I had earlier this year and it pretty much paid for the 2000 I loaded.

    Timing is everything.

Right, but deed it sooner than it can be shipped to me. Wanna shoot skeet. Maybe I'll just use buck shot haha! Better than not shooting and it's everywhere.

We use it for trapping. Shooting varmints at point blank range with a revolver, there's no need for high velocity and no need to carry around ear pro.

Just curious— Will subsonic .22 eject consistently from something like a ruger 10-22 semi-auto?
    (In comparison to standard .22)

Ive used the Remington Subsonic and CCI Standard Velocity out of my 10-22 and had no issues with it cycling. Both suppressed and unsuppressed. Both of those are in the ~1050fps range.

All i shoot from my 1022 is subsonic ammo mainly cci standard velocity or lapula centerX never had a problem with ejection unless i never clean the gun. I also always run suppressed.

In my experience it varies from gun to gun. Also the age/condition of your recoil springs can make a big difference. My 10/22 cycles it fine but my brothers won't. My Remington 597 and M&P 15-22 wont cycle it, but my CMMG AR 22lr conversion kit I've never had a problem with it cycling. My Taurus TX22 wont cycle CCI subsonics but will cycle the Winchester and Remington and my Ruger MKIII 22/45 wont cycle any of them. It's hard to say until you try it.

Many, but not all do when it's warm. In our matches in the cold months, it's common to hear someone with a semi having issues.

also depends on the ammo. a colibri type will probably not cycle it. The Aguila 60gr round that uses 22 short brass will cycle it, but the barrel twist is not fast enough to be very accurate, and you don't want to try to suppress it.

I think the "subsonic" 22 is a just a marketing gimmick. Doesn't make much sense really, because they really aren't much quieter. They don't have a sonic crack, but with no suppressor, this gets masked by the sound of the powder explosion anyway. A few brands make a "quiet" 22LR that is just primer compound and a bullet, no powder. Those really are quieter but they are ballistically useless unless you're shooting Cuban tree frogs on your patio.

Sort of like folks shooting subsonic 300blk without a can..... They're just spending more money than they need to.

.22 shorts out of a 27" barrel are so quiet that the bullet hitting the thick cardboard target backer is more noticeable than the muzzle "blast".

Bought this from Walmart for $24. My boy has shown remarkable respect for his toy guns. Time to move him up a rung.
