If you get it, make sure you swap out the polymer guide rod with a steel one. There are rumblings of them breaking after a few hundred rounds. I personally like it, sharp looking gun and its right around $600 from a very reputable manufacturer. I will be looking into one in the near future. Just need to know how much a guide rod swap would be.

Edit: I think I got lost on this thread when I clicked on it. This was a response to an earlier post in the thread. Sorry guys

100 rounds of 40, which I proceded to blow off at the range. That and about 250 rounds of 45, 50 rounds of 357 and another 50 of 38

1 box of 20 gauge shells and 1 box of .40 shells. The store would only sell 1 box of shells per person. They had a line of people around the store waiting to by long guns.

Saw a stack of FMK stripped lowers at Gun World last week.

I didn't even realize FMK made lowers... they're a local company over in Placentia.

Of course, they are asking $200 for them, which explains why they still have 4 in the case.

Ordered an extra 25rd mag, sling, foregrip, and raised peep sight scope mounts for the mossberg 715. Have an older Simmons 3-9x40 I plan on mounting in conjunction with the iron sights.

Ordered a BCM mid length upper today. They were in stock for about 5 minutes. I'm gonna slap it on and see if I like this one or my carbine length better. Also got their pistol grip and some magpul stuff (AFG, BAD and MS3) I finally back ordered some new Pmags from dsg too. I had been reading its taking about 3-4 weeks for people to receiver their order. All in all I'd say it was a good day!:D

    Mid length is great.

    My short(er) barrel is a 14.5 with a pinned/welded flash hider, so it's the true M4 length.
Midlength gas system, very smooth, never any feed problems, and the brass goes into a nice little pile at 4:00.

Carbine is overgassed and hard on parts.

How is it that you live in Cali and have a short barrel? I thought they were illegal in Cali? Shit, I will be buying as soon as I can find one.

I own an 80% lower that I completed.
It can legally be assembled as a pistol, thus, it is legal for me to take possession of a short barrel without running afoul of NFA (California law is secondary to the 10 years you'll do for Constructive Possession).

Before assembling to the long gun lower, I assembled the barrel and gas block to the upper, mounted the flash hider, then drilled, pinned, and welded it to compliance with BATFE requirements for "permanent".

With the 2" flash hider permanently mounted, it is now classified as a 16.5" barrel since the barrel and the flash hider are now one.
16" meets both California and NFA requirements.

The only thing now is that the assembled length of the rifle can not be less than 30" to meet California's assault weapons ban.
It just happens that a 14.5" barrel with a Smith Vortex flash hider is 16.5", and a 16.5" barrel mounted to a lower with a standard mil-spec buffer tube measures out to 30.25".
    Legal in California...
