That would be what I’m hoping for. The larger calibers like 308 are hard to find still around here and very pricy

The last 3 boxes I seen of 150 grain Hornady, I bought. I think it was $35 per box, when it used to be $25. Same thing for 30/06, I bought the last 3 boxes they had since they were also Hornady 150 grain.

ahh so you hate money haha. Thats a nice pick up. Those are beautiful guns. I've never shot one but I have a friend who has one and says it will ruin you for other guns after you shoot it.

My 308 bolt gun won't hit a 6 inch circle at 200 yards with 150 grain. 168 grain and up and its literally a ragged hole. I dont get it but oh well its a tack driver with the right loads

Yeah I had the pleasure of hanging out with one of Staccato's reps last year and got to play around with the whole lineup. I was a big fan before that, but afterwords I was sold. Perfect balance between practical and performance imo, not to mention they just look sexy. I have a sinking feeling most of my other collection is going to go into semi-retirement after I get my hands on it.

I have a CZ 527 223 with a 1/12 twist that is the same only in reverse. It loves 45gr and will group in ragged hole. 50gr group in a dime/nickel. But it struggles to hold a tight group with anything heavier than that. I am still experimenting with powder/projectile combos, though I think I’m limited by the twist rate.

The thing is the 308 is a 1/10 twist 5r which is known for being a common standard

It’s crazy how things work like that. Hopefully you didn’t spend your kids inheritance on 150gr ammo before you found it’s sweet spot.

Not at all i bought 2 boxes when i first bought the rifle then i bought a bought a box of 168 when i couldn't hit the same spot twice at 50 yards so i learned quickly that 150 is off limits in that gun

This is why I'm not rushing out to buy .308 bulk. I'll prob end up with a whole bunch of mix matched boxes at first till I can figure out what it likes best. But still want to have seeds to send for when I do finish the build

My Rem 700 .223 loves 45gr Hornadys. Anything over 55gr, nope.

I was wondering why manufacturers made or make barrels with slower twist rates? Then it dawned on me reading about some bullets that are now discontinued, well they would spin apart and vaporize before getting down range.
:notsure: people wanted a high velocity light weight, rapid expansion bullet for prairie dogs?

Invite to long range range next weekend they moved a target out to 1300. :bananadance::bananadance::infantry:

My custom molded ear pro came in today. Will be nice for high power range and all the brakes including mine until my TBAC gets out of ATF jail. Also nice for double up with my Walker over the ear at the indoor range when dude breaks out the brake equipped 8 inch ar pistol.

Yep, I've spun a few bullets apart. :anonymous:

Try shooting a running coyote with a slow, heavy bullet. Fast n flat is where it's at.
